Once we have the nomination locked I would very much like to see the rest of the pool go to work on support roles
Senate seats, admin positions, cabinet positions, and where ever else they can do the most good
Even though Warren is my top pick I still love the pool of talent we have right now

Anyone have any polling data on her favorability with independents? Because if she gets the nomination, that's who she is going to need to appeal to.
I think the reason for this is that she's excellent when it comes to persuasion and being personable, making ideas relatable. I'd argue the same effect would hold.
I sincerely hope so. I love her policies and will vote for her in a second. Just have doubts she can make these same inroads with independents.
As someone who had previously wished she didn't run at all... She has my vote, if the primary were to take place today.
She actually has ideas, and she's thought them through to policy.
If we actually want to see a progressive fight for the nomination, either Sanders or Warren has to drop out- They'll definitely steal votes from each other basically guaranteeing Biden the nomination.
I know, it's early... But still.
In the span of two paragraphs went from Warren is corrupt, not a genuine progressive, just a spoiler for Bernie to amazing at economics and should be Bernie's Treasury secretary.

This could be like one of those things where if you call attention to it then nothing happens. Is that was a jinx is? Either way, don't count Delaney out.
It also seems to skew Republican. Cruz was bottom rung too in 2015, and ended up taking Iowa.

Also, Warren doesn't really have a "plan" to end the filibuster... I would assume this responsibility lies with the Senate, that is of course if the Dems retake it.
But I give her points for at least openly discussing her desire to end it.

That would leave Nevada as the only blue trifecta state not to sign on. I imagine if enough states flip blue in the next few years to push it up to 270, Sisolak would give.
This came up on my timeline via Jonathan Bernstein and it's a critique of Warren (and to a degree also applies to Sanders, with the "go over their heads to the people!" stuff theory that's touched on in the referenced blogpost.)
I don't think that the "institutional reform" critique is a good one here - she's clearly talking about having the Dems throw out all the antiquated norms in the Senate they keep playing by that the GOP ignores, not institutional process changes in the Executive Branch.
But the "WE'LL GO OVER THEIR HEADS" thing just doesn't work. We found that out in 2009.
How is this a thing that needs to be reported? Ive lived in rural areas my entire life. This is a frequent joke in families with both male and female children.

This tweet is trying too hard. He's an old man making an old man joke to a child. I get it, we're all very concerned about his interactions with women and his inability to learn, but this is not an example of that.
The President can quite easily influence that change, especially if somehow we do retake the Senate in 2020.
The main reason why I think it's possible; Republicans have gotten rid of it for anything they really wanted.
While I have major doubts about Warren being able to counter the firestorm Trump and the sexist nuts on the right will throw at her, I do believe she has a great chance to turn some independents toward her with good performance in the debates. She just can't frame it as "socialism." General public seems to hate that. Frame it as income inequality and as a "Look, you're being screwed over and here's why."
This is why I think Booker has a decent shot to climb up in the polls if he has a good debate performance
Nah, I'd rather he get primaried and then run for president or fade out(which I know wouldn't happen), and have the seat flip to a Democrat that better represents Grand Rapids as a whole.
Despite his stance on impeachment, he's always going to be The Man Who Votes No to me. Whether he's a "principled independent" or not, I wouldn't expect his voting record to improve or change much.
Hence why much to Bernie fans chagrin she's kept saying she believes in markets, except for things like Healthcare where markets fail, and that markets without rules are theft.
Those are good numbers for Castro. I think he might be the most primed of any irrelevant candidate to break out, but I have no idea if he can impress in a debate.
