My top priority has switched from voting rights to prosecuting corruption. We need to shut this shit down with an iron fist, regardless of how bad it looks to go after your political rivals. We can't set the precedent that such blatant corruption is acceptable.
Title inflation in finance is really a thing. I grew up thinking VP meant bigwig, and it literally means manager in effect. Even directors are just middle managers, Managing Director is where it starts being a serious title, and I still wouldn't call that executive level.
MD was when they are grooming you for exec pretty much. At least that's how it looked on my end. Title inflation is so annoying, and happens a ton in NYC.

Yeah that's how it is at most banks. My dad has been in banking his whole career and has been a VP/Senior VP/Exec VP for most of it.

In finance, it's analyst, associate, senior associate, VP (manager or senior team member), director, managing director, senior managing director (which is an executive, IMHO), partner, managing partner, senior managing partner (top level people).
