John fucking Mc

And the downplaying AOC begins.

Just yesterday, yall were like "PFFFT NO WAY she'd endorse Bernie, shes all in for Warren"

Man, that's was quite the shift
I don't remember that, cause I didn't talk about AOC yesterday. But if you really think AOC is going to have an impact please don't have a breakdown in another Sanders thread

What Warren has to worry about is that Bernie is gonna be the main story news-wise now, so she may actually slide a little with less attention.

Yang is a horrible person, and has no business being on that stage. He can go back to his 4chan folks.
just because some deplorable people online are ironically supporting a politician doesn't mean they're evil

progressive policies will help even deplorable people - that's why there were obama -> trump voters who voted for obama when they needed the assistance but voted trump once they felt secure

not everyone is terminally online these days, some people might actually think universal basic income is good policy instead of picking their candidate based on online popularity, even if yang's starting point inplementation is flawed

but maybe he's been playing the long game all along - his speeches to asian american advocacy groups that have mentioned the growing dangers of white radicalization were actually all a secret ploy in his true plot of courting extremely online white incels! what a twist!

I was thinking she wouldn't endorse anyone. I also frankly didn't care much.

And I frankly don't care that much, still.

AOC endorsing Bernie is just the bump he needs to restore faith. First priority for Bernie has to be to stop the bleeding (starting all the way from his primary share in 2016 and culminating with his heart attack) and a great, light on his feet debate performance + a youthful AOC endorsement is just what he needed. For the love of god, let's please get a Biden-Warren-Sanders debate before Iowa please. Kamala and Pete if we really, really have to.
Bernie needs to improve his numbers with olds and Hillary voters. what does this accomplish to achieve that

Lol, AOC is too smart and politically savvy to make an endorsement now....

=/=

AOC making an endorsement will have a sizable impact on votes.

Warren a much better candidate than Sanders and much more viable.
I actually disagree. Bernie is a better candidate but warren has a 1000x better campaign than anyone else in the field right now. Shit, Harris, Bernie, Biden, and Beto are all probably better GE candidates but their campaigns suck.

I do think the endorsement could at least maybe stymie the bleeding even if it doesnt help him actually gain any momentum

I actually do think Bernie would be the best actual operating president of anyone on the stage right now. He is sharp, I think he would be more well liked than warren domestically, he has a better understanding of foreign policy, and he is actually more progressive but I think he can actually get more done with a heavy gop senate even if thank god they somehow don’t have a majority. It really is at this point that warren has basically run a goddamn perfect campaign thus far and that is what has gotten her to the top.
His actual campaign calls this claim into question due to who he keeps around him.

Still cackling at the utter flop Gabbard was this debate, especially her long planned (second) attempt to attack Warren being cut off by a commerical.

If the whole squad endorses now I wonder if that will cause other congresspeople and senators to endorse.

I haven't seen any talk about how Sanders (actually) evaded the heart attack question, by saying he's going to hold this rally.

Interesting how the last member of The Squad isn't endorsing Bernie...probably because she knows she can be Senator Ayanna Pressley if she plays her cards right.

I’m probably in the minority but I’m pretty consistently impressed with Booker and I think he would make a great VP pick. He’s a bit middle of the road and bland on certain topics but he’s charming, carries the minorities, and has a pretty decent Voting record. He definitely needs to get out of this race sooner rather than later but I’m leaning him over Beto on a Warren ticket.

Well no one wants to back a loser so he might as well win the people that agree with him first before expanding the base. I'm not saying he's the favorite for the nomination or anything, but you gotta take the easy wins first at least.

Imagine what the response would've been like had AOC endorsed Warren tho. Rose twitter would've called her a traitor to the revolution and began posting guillotine emojis lol.

Crossposting this from the OT debate thread. I think AOC didn't have a choice. She was not going to be able to sit this one out.
Honestly, this possible explanation makes a ton of sense. The backlash from the Bernie Or Bust crowd if AOC didn't endorse him right now would most likely be merciless. And I agree, once Bernie's out of the equation, I have no doubt that AOC will shift her endorsement to Warren.

I do think there’s more overlap between the people who started the initial Warren rise and AOC than some here are giving credit.

But nothing is saving Bernie’s campaign, especially after the heart attack.

This is actually a pretty smart desperation move for Bernie because it gets him back in the news, but otoh he's tied himself to the Squad who are probably not popular even among most Iowa/NH Dems.

Sanders and Castro probably did the best tonight.

Warren did slightly above average.

Steyer and Yang Average.

Booker, Harris, Beto and Biden Slightly below average.

Klobber, Booty and Tulsi were disasters.

This is going to be some primary, with all the types of endorsements and money sources being attributed to candidates. We will see who is effective, and who learns what lessons.

The people that Sanders chooses to surround himself with prove to me that he wont accomplish anything if he had power. He would be another trump like president who is in it to get high off feeling in control, of course not corrupt or idiotic but certainly just as arrogant.

I was really hoping that he would drop out but he seems to be getting a massive lifeline now and if the democratic primaries are prolonged then sanders and some of his most ardent supporters who are the worst scum comparable to trump supporters, people like Susan Sarandon, will make sure that democrats lose in 2020 just to teach them a lesson.

So this "Bernie's Back" really is a response to his little sabbatical following his heart attack, is it not? Is there reason to wonder if AOC timing of this endorsement is also related to that?
