Well, at least one of them has been playing pretty fast and loose with the truth or is confused about what's happening over the past couple of days. But maybe we can chalk all of this up to bad staffers and call the whole thing off in the next day or two.
I don't think anyone is prepared for the trump mudslinging during debates.
I think she knew because the whole thing felt so calculated up to and including the debate, but I could be wrong. I know people in here aren't so naive as to just believe whatever a politician says at face value. That's cultish. there are disagreements about who and how much we believe, and that's up to each individual to decide for themselves with the information presented.

Whether malicious or not, it wasn't a very effective attack. All's fair in love and politics, as people in here have said, but if it doesn't work and alienates voters, then it's not good politics. If she didn't know, then she joins the ranks of bernard in needing to tighten up their campaigns. If she did, then she made a political blunder, possibly by listening to bad advisors.

I mean, this is the main US political thread on the forum. We're moving into a very contentious primary race that specifically pits the left vs the center, so arguments are going to happen when tensions are high. Outside of making a Lefty Pol thread and dividing the community, I don't really see that stopping.

Okay so what's the actual solution then? You can't just say "People on the left shouldn't be mean in this thread" when there's a high level of toxicity towards their posts from regulars in the thread. I don't think those people are going to change their posting habits because you want a friendlier atmosphere, although it would be nice. So whats the answer here?
