As opposit to PS4 dev kit, they emphasis on cooling here. And when you follow the rumor about it (basically superior to 5700XT), it makes sense.
sure....If they need this type of aerodynamic airflow design to achieve 2.0GHz, the retail design will be ugly too.
+1I wonder if they are actually calling it Playstation V, I just remembered this trademark from Sony
Yeah, I don't care. The PS4 pro alphajet is really a pain to experience. Give me a big silent ugly box.If they need this type of aerodynamic airflow design to achieve 2.0GHz, the retail design will be ugly too.
Unlikely it's a dev kit, those are supposed to be practical and versatile, this is everything other than that and would be a huge pain in the ass to have sitting on a desk since you cannot really place anything on top of them without severely obstructing the airflow.

Ps5 half the power of xbox confirmed
This design is absolutely hideous but it's encouraging that Sony finally gives a flying fuck about this aspect of their consoles. That's a very interesting cooling architecture. Most likely not indicative of the final design, but it looks like they're putting an emphasis on airflow and cooling
Really? This looks like newsMy friend's LG tv latest firmware update added a "PlayStation V" option under PlayStation 4 so yeah.

Yep, it's ugly in a cool, fun way. Too bad the retail units are 100% going to look boring and uninspired just like the last few.Everyone hating on this design just wants more bland black boxes. Give me more 90s anime industrial design.
