My take is - if Steam and Valve don't have a problem with graphic, gory violence in games then they shouldn't have a problem with pornographic games

Post from the developer on how the game got accepted:

Dharker
[developer] 10 Sep @ 9:46am

The game is still being reviewed, but we were given feedback on the last version of the game, and assured that as long as we properly fill in the Mature Content Survey with details on what the game includes then the game will be allowed to release.

But we still need to wait for the game to be reviewed and it confirmed.

The last set of feedback did not include any notes saying content in the game was not appropriate for release.

If you go to the store page for the game, you will see a new section that details all of the adult content in the game. Which is taken from the mature content survey.

The version we have sent for review, is the completely uncensored edition of the game, if this is accepted as we hope it will, it will mean no patch will be needed to unlock content within the game.

Who is doing the OT?

Step in the right direction, no need to censor anything, allow people to make their own decisions on what they should and should not play and give developers the creative freedom to do what they want. Good job Steam, hopefully console manufacturers look into this.

I feel all the people saying the girls in the op look like children have never seen what actualy children in anime look like.

You could make an anatomical estimates based on head to height ratio and the shapes used, but that's still something im not sure how steams employees would even determine. Anatomically, your examples are exaggerated adult female figures with googly eyes, a line for a nose and non existent lips.

You can ask for any ban you want, just don't expect it to happen. Doom is so far removed from anything realistic in particular and only features hideous demon monsters dying.
I mean, at this point you're just arguing about art styles. I'd get this stance more if they were going the Fire Emblem or Fate route of "child who is actually 1000 years old" creepy nonsense, which this isn't. You seem to be arguing that "big head, big eyes = child" which is silly considering that's most of anime art styles nowadays. Guess most anime characters are children by that logic considering it's the most widespread trope across the medium. Guess Bulma and ChiChi from Dragonball Z are children too.

Doesn't Huniepop have full frontal nudity? I thought these games were on steam already.

Nudity has always been allowed. Just no actual on screen penetration. Even AAA games have to abide by those rules.

I was actually just saying it looks like shit, but ok.

So I read through the steam page. Don't really find anything particularly questionable about it, especially relative to some other VNs you can easily find on Steam (cough Nekopara cough). The stories sound interesting enough, and based on the descriptions seem to treat the sexual subject matter tastefully in a thematic sense (though explicitly). I think you play as the girls, too, so in that way I don't feel like it's too exploitative.
(And there's yuri. Nice.)

Overall I don't think there's anything to make a fuss about.

In the end, I don't think there's a reason to remove porn from the platform as long as it's not illegal. If anyone is legitimately freaking about the game I described above - it just shows how ridiculous and (dare I say) poorly-informed some of these criticisms can be.

I was saying the heads don't match the bodies at all and it looks weird as hell. Not a great style, but I guess each to their own.
Faces are hard, and drawing in such an abstract style as anime makes it pretty difficult to make "specifically age 20-30 and super definitely not anything else" faces. Most artists just go with like, a professional style of glasses or hairstyle to indicate 20-30. Yes, you have artists like Oda Non that can nail it, but that's not everyone. Don't conflate this with a fucked up fetish.

They don't look underage though. I'd understand if it were like this.

This kinda thing is pretty weird. Not whatever this game is that we are discussing. They look adult to me by anime standards especially.
See, this is a child character, and is gross. Nowi can burn in a fire (Like for real her own fucking daughter looks older than her just HOW)

A lot of porn game sites are about to see a huge drop in revenue.

Hopefully Valve can effectively gate these games from minors.

Normally it would be a good thing, lets people have their porn if they want to.

But this anime style porn always panders to pedophiles, that is not a good thing and should be forbidden on steam and everywhere.

This is a good thing. With this, we might finally have a store front which has enough pull to not instantly falter the moment their payment processor raises puritan objections.
As long as the content is legal, idgaf.

Norway

I haven't really followed this, but are porn movies still illegal here? I have never seen any adult dvds in any stores.

Anyway, the disclaimer might claim they are 18 but I'm pretty sure the Norwegian authorities will use a subjective judgment of the age of the characters. I remember there being a lot in the news about sex dolls that look like children and that they were illegal even if the pack sais 18.

As for listing porn games on steam, I'm fine with that as long as it's not children in the game and it's marked properly.
I agree that this title is highly questionable though from the screens in the OP.

This is weird topic to wake up to. Not only have porn games like Melty's Quest and Mutiny! been on Steam for like a year, I'm pretty sure Negligee itself has been on there for even longer. What is this, a sequel?

Sure, why not?
Not that I'd ever play something like this.

To whoever says "ew boobz": like you people never went on a porn website.

I wonder if this will somehow affect Valve's relationship with PayPal. PayPal is notorious for not wanting to handle payments for adult content.

For the people who say they look like children... What does a adult look like in that style?

More or less fine with this. AO games should be allowed to be sold, the across the board soft ban on them is silly and outdated. Probably never happening on anything but steam though.

I like that you had to qualify adult because it isn't at all obvious just by looking

Edit for clarification: late teenagers say 17/18 might be legal in some parts of the world and not others and people develop at different speeds. There's legally underage people who look way older than their age and people older than the legal age that look way younger. Human biology is weird.
