Apparently Facebook did comment to CBC that the post was real even after it was removed. I think removing the profile is definitely what needed to be done. We don't a murder's profile on display to confirm details like this.

I am pretty certain the cop did not calculate the probability of him carrying a gun initially/the fact that Canada has fewer weapons. The cop likely knew this guy was a mad man and still had the mental fortitude to peacefully arrest him.
Imo as a cop, you should always be cognizant of someone carrying a firearm but approach it in a cerebral and calm manner regardless of gun laws as there are several illegal ways to obtain a gun.
I wouldn't diminish the outstanding work done by said cop.
My friend who has trouble with women asked me today whether or not he was what would be considered an incel. I had to let him know that he was nothing like the people who refer to themselves like that. He didn't actively blame women and society for not getting laid.

If the incel thing is true, I don't see easier access to commodified sex as something that would 'help' a guy like this. The incel stuff seems largely about power dynamics and an especially perverse form of conspicuous consumerism. Looser prostitution regulations aren't going to address that.

Incels don't consider prostitution a solution to their problems - they say they want 'companionship' instead. The problem with that is the combination of their excessively high standards and a toxicly negative attitude toward women and sex that others can sense from a mile away. There are plenty of well-adjusted virgins out there (the vast majority, in fact), but incels are a militant breed that want to place all the blame for their problems on others, yet refuse to acknowledge that a good deal of their problems lie on their side of the fence.
The problem is these guys feel inadequate. The fact that they would have to pay for it in comparison to people who "get it for free" would still drive them just as insane. Not to mention these people would actually have to go to the prostitute. If they are scared of women in general, would they approach a prostitute?
The gun rate in Canada is still high. 31 per 100 people. Nearly 1/3 of the population could potentially own a gun? I find the criticism from US policing 'experts' pretty disgraceful actually - one claimed the cop had a 'duty' to shoot and kill the guy. We have normalised cops executing people now.

I would have never imagined someone invoking Elliot Rodger as some hero. I remember reading his manifesto and feeling so dirty.
He isn't a loser because he is a virgin. I gave into pressure when I was younger, as a direct result none of my sexual experiences have been particularly positive; I would be perfectly happy to be a virgin right now. What makes him, and other people like him, a loser is that he chose to interpret his own virginity as some kind of abuse inflicted upon him by all women. What makes him a loser is that he lashed and out and killed innocent people because women wouldn't volunteer themselves for sex. He is disgusting. People like him are disgusting.
