This shit is just so triggering. Constant exposure to this stuff, seeing people who look like me lose their lives so trivially knowing that the only thing separating me from Floyd and other brothers who have lost their lives to police violence is just the circumstance of luck. All it takes is one unlucky day and you’re a hashtag. Carrying that knowledge daily is probably subtracting from my life force and I know it can’t be just me.

There are no good cops. A good person wouldn’t choose to be apart of that. All of them are complicit and it’s fucked up.
That seems to be the case doesn't it. What do you do about this shit? Everyone armed in this country is a fucking violent nutjob.

edit: Watching the live video, what the fuck...

Minneapolis is actually more livid than I’ve seen. My Facebook moderates are even upset. Hell, my nextdoor has a massive thread on it right now about how we need to dismantle our current system of policing and government in the city and rebuild it. Fucking nextdoor.
Yeah im from here too and people who i know have been on the blue lives matter wagon are posting about how disgusting the murder was and justice needs to be served. For whatever reason this murder has finally set them off too.

At this point, this shit is just frustrating.

Can I just wish for mass riots every time shit like this happens?

I’m sure it’s me speaking from my privilege, but I was just impressed with her, that’s all.

I meant she was cracking me up, but I see now my phrasing might have been unclear.
You're phrasing is fine. The girl in the stream is just on the "fuck it, let's fuck some shit up" end on the spectrum, which is a perfectly valid response. It's all good.

The promise of organized riots would do it.
For every innocent murdered, riot. Burn it to the ground.

Cops are so disgusting. I am so angry
I'm past the waiting for a death phase. I want a riot for every Amy Cooper incident on up.

They know that they were next if they even took a step towards helping this poor man. Totally fucked up. At least it is getting worldwide coverage, but nothing will change.
Young, pretty, (preferably) blonde white women have a duty to physically step forward when they see this happening. That's the demographic that would be the safest speaking up against cops on camera.

Saw the thread title, and the first thought was... "was it a black man' ...sigh :(

I really do not care for the not all cops movement and comments, all cops are responsible for these actions at this point.

I’m sure I’m not the only one but the cop stuff that has been coming out in the recent years has made it difficult for me to not view all cops in a different light. Which is crazy cause I have two good friends who are cops and still I don’t know I just find myself suspecting their motives/intentions at all times

No It effects me as well, I can't put it into words, hearing stories like this just sends me into a downword tunnel of dark thoughts.
I honestly don't know how much more I can take of this, at least If I commit suicide (don't worry I'm not) I go on my own terms, not at the mercy and pleasure of some monster.

All of them. All one has to do is see how countless cops across the country stuck Blue Lives Matter stickers and patches all over their shit in response to Colin Kaepernick kneeling at football games, then realize that not a single one of them - absolutely 0 - will put up any sort of graphic standing in solidarity against “bad apple” cops literally killing someone by kneeling on their unconscious neck.

I’m really concerned about COVID spread with this protest as well. Most people were wearing masks early on, but I can’t imagine this is all being followed at this point.
If you're ever going to willingly risk contracting a disease in a pandemic, risking it to protest the police for outright murdering someone is one of the best reasons I could consider right now. We can't exactly ask them to "be safe", considering what the police are doing in response makes it an inherently unsafe environment.

Unless they’ve acknowledged the corruption of police in the US and openly condemned every murder of an innocent killed by their ilk and called for the prosecution of their fellow pigs, they’re a fucking pig and they’re less than nothing.

Make sure to tell them that, too.

One of my friends from high school posted on Facebook about how scared she is because she's a mother to a black man. It broke me.

This is the thing. This is why I can not trust cops at all.

There's 4 of these fuckers and 3 of them stood there and watched this evil PoS kill a man for no reason. Even if they NEVER personally directly did something anywhere near racial profiling, discrimination or abuse of power on the job (I highly doubt that ..) they have to know that what was happening was fucking wrong and they had the power to stop it. Which makes them just as at fault for this.

And that's giving them the benefit of thinking that they realize this is wrong. For all I know this group of shits have a lil donut club where they meet up every so often and agree to let each other take point on beating the shit outta black men as the others stand guard.

All these bitches deserve jail for murder or accessory to murder.

How does this shit even pop into someone's head? Did he wake up, roll outta bed and think "... Ya know what? Imma let off some steam today! Next big black anima- I mean nig- I mean "African American" I have to deal with is really gonna get it! Lets see .... Ah, yeah, Imma support the full weight of my PoS self on his neck! They can take it! Show em whose boss!"?

This shit is disgusting.
This system is shit and I hate that so many people I worked with, grew close to and had good times with in the TSA became cops (A shocking amount of young people in the TSA use TSA as a stepping stone to going into law enforcement).

I know that no matter how kind or sweet or nice they were with me ... they decided to go into this field and work within this system that treats people like me as if we mean nothing. I know that any of that good I saw in them, no matter how real or fake, is snuffed out by their loyalty to their uniform.

None of them ever acknowledge this shit on FB after they became cops.
Sickening.

Same boat. But the ones I really thought were good, quit and don’t talk about it anymore. Like they refuse.

I honestly can’t trust them anymore. Maybe if they were venting to me and telling me how they were trying to change things, but nope.
Yeah it’s definitely a new view for me. Anytime a cop shows up wherever I’m at something comes over and I automatically go into a defensive mode where I’m just ready for something to happen. More than that there is just this underlying disdain I have when I see them

I don't usually post in threads like these - I have nothing real to add I guess, I get upset and try not to insert myself into it on the internet. This hits fucking different. It's been too long, too much shit piling up ESPECIALLY recently, I wish there was more I could do from across the country besides call, I guess maybe there'll be protests here too? I might need to look into that, but it's so fucking frustrating to see men and women treat each other this way and feel helpless. I'm not even a minority (well, visibly, nobody cares about the genetics), I can't fathom how it must feel to go through life feeling like this every other fucking day it seems like. I just know nothing has ever made me want to elbow someone square in the nose and cause potentially fatal harm like this shit. Heart can't help but weep for the state of humanity.

EDIT:

Actually, I take this back. I'm being facetious because I'm angry and this isn't helping anyone.

If you're a minority in the US there is a fairly convincing moral argument that can be made for killing cops on sight.
Putting aside the call to murder people, I actually think this would make matters worse.

I understand the heartbreak that’s coming from this. This isn’t the first time that this has happened and I am not entirely hopeful that it will be the last, but calling for murder isn’t helpful.

ACAB for me works as a shorthand because it’s actually a protective slogan that PoC use to assume that every cop they see can potentially victimize them. I don’t think it’s meant to be interpreted as saying every single cop is guilty of committing racialized violence and that we should try killing them for it.

I often find myself thinking that it's rather difficult to judge police work as an outsider – but there is no grey area in this incident, after watching that video. That was straight up murder. And should be charged as such. It was really sickening to watch, the most disturbing thing being how the cop just continued to knee on his neck after the man had passed out several minutes ago. He's a murderer and should be in jail for it. There is no excuse for him about "not knowing" the extent of his actions or such; if he doesn't know how (not) to use excessive violence, he should not be in his position in the first place.

I can only imagine how horrible the witnesses must feel right now. They were witnessing murder in real time, knowing about it, wanting to step in, but unable to help because if they interfered, they would have risked their own lives. Just sick.

If you're a minority in the US there is a fairly convincing moral argument that can be made for killing cops on sight.
That's an idiotic statement though.

Look, I'm not advocating for it I'm just saying there are enough convincing talking points to be able to have that debate.

I'm not sure if you've ever been part of a debate club but one party often has to defend a position that is unquestionably 'wrong', I'm just saying the situation has gotten to a point where you could quite easily defend that position from a moral perspective in a debate environment.

EDIT: I take this back too.

Debating whether or not its justified to kill people on sight? what the fuck debate club would ever entertain this?

nah, ain’t shit to take back

everyone loves to post their half ass sympathies and well wishes

We always the ones expected to die. No debate about it. We the ones that have to deal with the repercussions and the broken hearts

nobody else allowed to die because then that’s going too far.

Niggas over this shit, There’s really something wrong with these white people.
