Socialism is the future, starting with affordable housing. Just look at this guy letting AOC live in his head rent free.

Skeptical about that, don't take a few victories and assume socialism is going to suddenly take over the US. That's not a sign of anything really, she's caught their attention for obvious reasons and the GOP need a new threat to their base to coalesce around now Hillary and Pelosi are fading or left for greener pastures.

Fuck this guy. When I see morons like this getting published in a legitimate paper, I understand why the right justify their stupid ass behavior.

How can you write an article assuming what someone does and doesn't know and on top of that: isn't willing to learn?

Such trash writing...

This op-ed is barely worth a LOL.

It's a hit piece. It's retaliation over the perceived belief that AOC was somehow singlehandedly responsible for Amazon's HQ2 being pulled out of NYC.

I'll trust Krugman over this dude:

Via NY Times:
Which brings me back to AOC, and the constant effort to portray her as flaky and ignorant. Well, on the tax issue she's just saying what good economists say; and she definitely knows more economics than almost everyone in the G.O.P. caucus, not least because she doesn't "know" things that aren't true.

Dude who is not an economist or has any credentials in the field proceeds to lecture a Congresswoman on economic policies. Okay.

You'd think those Bezos bucks would be able to pay for something that takes more than 45 seconds to read and is more involved than 'no u'-ing two tweets.

Lmao I'm going through this guy's articles at WaPo. Spoiler alert, he's got some hot takes;

Howard Schultz is calling Democrats out for how radical their party has become

What angers Democrats is that he is calling them out for how radical their party has become.

Trump won the night. Schumer and Pelosi lost.

If this keeps up, it will be the Democrats who will be blamed for the government shutdown.

The Mueller probe could turn out to be a disaster — for the Democrats

Impeaching Trump for something unrelated to Russia would backfire big-time.

I was arrested for nunchucks. Now, justice at last.

Americans have a constitutional right to keep and bear nunchucks.

Do OpEds even have a place in the media anymore? Ever since the blog became a thing they became entirely pointless. In a world full of shit perhaps the real value of news sources is prose of denser fact? If you aren't going to judiciously moderate your content then why the fuck shouldn't I be reading Medium instead?

A huge amount of Opinion writing at even prestigious papers like the NYT or WaPo are make work jobs for privileged idiots who wouldn't be able to survive in the real world for even a second. It's almost unfathomable how bad a lot of their writing and analysis is.

I don't particularly agree with AOC's economic approach, especially with the Amazon thing, but she certainly knows what she's doing. Having a different economic approach doesn't make one economically illiterate.

Talking about AOC being dangerous for America when the current admin has given billions in taxbreaks to the richest?
Just imagine living that life.

America is the richest as far as they're concerned. There was some GOP poster that states the middle classes makes $250K or something.

She's been on the job less than two months and she's already taken down Amazon.

She has superpowers, clearly.

They're scared that it becomes more popular and commonplace for citizens to push back against corporate handouts to corporations.

And AOC is the figurehead, whether she did anything or not. They think if they can knock her down it will wipe the movement out.

The Pod save guys, and Favreau in particular, were in love to the Nth degree with Crowley and have showcased a total disdain and antipathy towards AOC since she beat him.
Which is in part why you can immediately disregard this guy as knowing nothing by having an opening statement like, "Well, there is a reason for that: Ocasio-Cortez is driving the agenda of today's Democratic Party"

Yes, she is a couple months in and is driving the agenda of the Democratic Party. We all know Schumer and Pelosi are puppets. They will be signaling her as the leader of the deep state in no time.

It's pretty much held up because the geriatrics refuse to get their news from any other source. It's why people like Boot feign or possess an absurd degree of smug self importance when they have an audience of like, 2,000 people.

One of the worst in this regard is CNN, because they have one in particular guy (I can't remember the name and can't find it from a brief search) who tends to have all his pro-Trump op-eds labeled "Analysis:" instead of "Opinion:".

I think it's quite dumb to assume Bezos somehow is behind this, like some are doing here. This guy has been writing stupid op-eds about dems for some time.

Republicans don't get to lecture anyone on economics. Especially someone who worked with W.

"I went to Australia!"

Ugh. Insufferable. Her and Megan Mcardle deserve a special place in OpEd hell. "Here's a shopping list for easy utensils for the lower income bracket that includes $90 salt shakers and a $1,800 speed cooker to make sauce in 45 minutes because I'm too much of a lazy jerk to just make a fucking sauce be hand"
