India has so many different languages, Im not sure how unifying it on one page would even work. When I lived there, I knew plenty of people who did not know Hindi or English well and just spoke their state's language.
I don't really see this as a hurdle, India has it's equivalent of Amazon for example. Besides, I think you're underestimating how many people in India understand English (which is maybe why there hasn't been a need for local substitutes to many international websites).

Why would we? We don't have a censored internet like China does.
Why doesn't Australia or UK or Sweden or Germany or Ghana or UAE have their own YouTube?
Who is talking about censoring Indian internet?
And why would you not want to have your own silicon Valley?

Not sure if you look at the world having your own silicon Valley is huge generator off wealth and tax revenue for India. Given predictions that AI assistance can boost world gdp with $17 trillion and with China and US taking 70% of that pie. You also want to keep your data domestic given that data is the oil to power the AI revolution.

Not familiar with Modi plans does the Modi government have something like made in China 2025 or Germany industry 4.0 plan?

The radicalization of young people through right-leaning internet stars is a massive problem that isn’t getting even talked about, let alone addressed.

In an ideal society, PewDiePie’s empire would have burned to the ground after making videos guest-starring Ben Shapiro and recommending books by Jordan Peterson - but as it stands, instead he’s the most popular channel on YouTube and his audience is primarily impressionable children.

Saying the n-word would get you fired from nearly any single job on the planet but its okay if PDP uses racial slurs like it? Alright.
When you’re self employed and the only people who can hold you accountable is your audience, yes. If they don’t care then nothing can be done, I think this says more about the people who watch PewDiePie than it does him, because is it really that surprising that a YouTube gaming celebrity who built his channel on screaming rape jokes uses racial slurs in private?

User warned: Dismissive of racism
Lol some of you act all so so righteous. I'm not backing up Pewd for what he did in the past but he acknowledged his massive fk up and has moved on from it. His charity works are amazing and his most recent one shows that he actually cares and maybe, just maybe hes not an actual racist despite the idiotic comments of some people from his community about Indians?

Guys come on.

Dressing up as a Nazi or doing Nazi salutes doesnt make you a racist.
Saying racial slurs doesnt make you a racist.
Making Jews-holocaust jokes doesnt make you a racist.
Hanging out with racists doesnt make you a racist.

Sure he has done those things but can you really prove to me that in his heart he is a racist? You cant. Ok.

Yes, Ronaldo is a rapist, but he doesn't do charities for women that were raped.
Doesn't change that you can be a piece of shit while hiding behind PR charity work so people like you would go "How is he racist? He donated to Indian charity!"

How's that not obvious amuses me. Are you seriously trying to argue that because he donated to charity work, he's unable to be racist and all of his previous racist acts are now irrelevant? For your Information, they are not mutually exclusive, you can donate for something you hate (especially for someone as big as him) to portray this image of "Great individual" while still having a racist agenda behind the works because PDP knows that talking publicly about it would get him in trouble.

Too bad for him that he's stupid enough to let his racist side escape sometimes.

what sort of racist makes a charity for Indian children, that collects 250k in one day?
Yeah some people are way too absolute about this. He has made mistakes, several of them, but I don't think he's actually outright racist. Just a bad role model for children in that he's desensitized to a lot of questionable stuff, and may be passing it on to kids who don't know better than to take after him in being lax about such things; "it must be okay because he's so popular".

His best friend Shapiro likes to use the term race hustler a lot, and I think it describes pewdiepie quite well. He may not be explicitly racist but that doesn't absolve him of anything. He enables neo-nazis and actively profits off them.

Guys an ass and I’m probably not going to subscribe to him (don’t need terrible content flooding my sub box), but I got to commend him for taking this opportunity to collect money for a charity. So good on him I guess (he’s still shit).

Wtf are you on about. There are tons of amazing Hindi and tamil music that gets views through that channel.
I'm sure a ton of death threats get thrown about in regards to members of the Indian LGBT community and I don't want to minimize that but India has actually been progressing in that area as of late. They very recently decriminalised homosexuality, I know that's not a particularly high barometer, but it is something to celebrate and they are at least they are at least moving in the correct direction.

But yeah, it's not particularly surprising that a large Indian media company will probably still avoid any LGBT topics, I mean in even in the US, Disney is still pretty much limited to Le Fou.

Admittedly though, I don't follow Indian media that much, if there's more to it, I'd genuinely be interested to read about it. Like if the government does actively block anything in regards to representation or awareness.

Your point about the quality of the music just seems alittle... I dunno. I mean, there's tons of music I'm not into that gets a billion views, seems weird to call out this channel. That's just like... accept it's not your thing and move on.
It's not just the LGBT community. Movies like Udta Punjab got delayed and people related to it were ridiculed/threatened because they dared to show the rampant drug abuse problem in Punjab.
Padmavati's lead actress got death threats by fundamentalists.
All of this is allowed by Govt. for no other reason than fucking votebank politics.
As for the music, sure, lots of people enjoy it, but just because they do, it's not exempt from criticism. It's shallow, trendhopping garbage and I'm fine with others enjoying it. I myself find it boring.
Still shocked that India doesn't have their own YouTube, Facebook etc like China.
We do get special attention from Pornhub though.
