War of Genesis 2 Remake to Release on Vita/Switch in 2019 (UE4) [Update: Switch Only Release]

Korean publisher Next Floor revealed that War of Genesis (SRPG Franchise originally developed by Softmax) 2 Remake has changed its engine from Unity to Unreal Engine 4.

The game was originally slated to revealed and release on 2018, but company decided to delay the reveal till 2019, to increase the quality of the game.

Alongside the Vita sku that was originally planned, company also decided to release the game on Nintendo Switch.

According to Next Floor the game is going to be Switch only. No other consoles are currently planned.

UE4 on Vita? good luck. it's possible as the Vita has the necessary hardware spec, but there's no official support, so they'll go it alone. might be the first UE4 Vita game if Bloodstained doesnt beat them to the punch

Is there any info on the game itself? What is being remade? Why isn't Softmax doing it? Why WoG2 in particular? Screens? Artwork? Same character designer? I liked old Softmax games!

Next Floor bought the IP from Softmax after MMO WoG4 bombed hard.

No other info other than platform, engine or slated year.

ghe original WoG had pretty classy art.

same with rhapsody of zephyr. they went crazy with tempest and WoG 3

its a remake of 1 or 2 (not sure which).. 2 is kind of like mystery of emblem to 1s shadow dragon (2 includes 1 and more)

this is the original from 1996. it actually had two sequels (war of genesis 3 and wat of genesis 3 part 2) and two spinoffs (rhapsody of zephyr and tempest, the latter being very similar to fire emblem threehouses since you teach students in a school with a set schedule and then go to war with them lol)

Is this really just Switch? That didn't look like any Switch game I have played. In fact, that would look darn good on PS4. Is it a target render or platforms need to be clarified? If that really was Switch footage...then god damn, its the best graphics on the system.

Ah release 2022...I reckon that is target render footage
