Got my hands on the full set of Mesa Prime, just need to build her. I heard good things about this frame, is it really that good?

Why: The conversation surrounding Arcane Guardian led to a significant review of Armor stats on Warfarmes. The Majority of Warframes received an increase in the Armor stat to increase survivability. Compounded with Shield Gating and the numerous other changes covered, we expect a much more fair feeling playing field for all Warframes.

Arcane Guardian Details + Reminders
Arcane Guardian
On Rank 5: On Damaged:
15% chance for +900 Armor for 20s
  • Arcane Energize will still give energy to toggled Warframe abilities - this has been asked a lot.

  • Arcanes will require 21 Arcanes to reach the new Max Rank of 5. Scarlet Spear will feature a buy-what-you-want shop for Arcanes based on the currency earned in the event. It will launch in March shortly after the Mainline.

Depth of Status Changes

Our original Workshop said the following:
"In further additions, previously unstackable Status Effects (Puncture, Cold, Magnetic, Radiation, Viral) will now have stacking effects. We'll have more information on this later as it develops!"|

This Part 2 serves to provide that information. In a way,the Status changes are much bigger than just 'give >100% Status meaning'. While getting 2 Status Effects on a single shot is a novel change, the way Status' will now Stack is likely going to be more noticeable:

We have made substantial changes to not only adding stackable Status Effects to those Status' without it, but also changing some existing:

Type/ Stacking Behaviour when a duplicate Status Effect Occurs:

Slash- Each Slash Status has its own duration, but now we only show a maximum of 10 damage numbers in the HUD, damage is unaffected, but reducing how many damage events we show helps with performance

Impact- Repeat single-target Impact Status Effects will escalate the efficacy of the Impact Status (from Stagger to full Ragdoll).

Puncture- The first Puncture Status Effect has an enemy deal 30% less Damage. Subsequent Puncture Status add +5% weakening, leading to up to 75% (capped). Each Puncture Status has a duration of 6 Seconds.

Cold- The first Cold Status Effect deals 25% slow. Subsequent Cold Status Effects deal +5% slow for a total of 70% slow at 10 procs. Each Cold Status has a duration of 6 seconds.

Heat- No Change.

Toxin- See Slash, plus the base duration of a Toxin Status Effect now matches Slash for 6 seconds.

Electric- AoE Electric Damage that is part of the Status Effect can now reoccur while the target is still under the stun animation of another Electric Status Effect.

Blast- AoE Impact that goes through enhanced stages of Crowd Control and Knockdown with repeat Status.

Corrosive- The first Corrosive Status Effect strips 26% Armor. Subsequent Corrosive Status Effects strip 6% more Armor, leading up to 80% Armor removal.

Each Corrosive Status Effect lasts 8 seconds.
Note: Corrosive was the only Status with infinite Duration and 100% Efficacy toward a defensive stat. This was necessary to some based on how Armor Scaled. We feel our rebalancing efforts need a differently behaving Corrosive to balance out all Status overall.

Radiation- The first Radiation Status Effect has an enemy deal 100% Damage to allies. Subsequent Radiation Status adds +50% damage, leading to up to 550% (capped). Each Radiation Status Effect has a duration of 12 seconds.
Magnetic- New Status Effect entirely: enhanced Damage! First Magnetic Status Effect deals 100% additional Shield damage, subsequent Magnetic Status add +25% for a total of 325% (capped). Enemies under a Magnetic Status Effect cannot regenerate Shields. Magnetic Status Duration is now 6 seconds.

Viral- New Status Effect entirely: enhanced Damage! First Viral Status Effect deals 100% additional Health damage, subsequent Viral Status add +25% for a total of 325% (capped).
Note: Before Viral would halve a target's health pool and simply refresh the duration. Now it deals 2x Damage to Health, and can scale up to 4.5x Damage on repeat Status Effects.

Gas- The base duration of a Gas Status Effect now matches Slash for 6 seconds.

Why: The inclusion of enhanced or different stacking of Duplicate Status Effects is one to refresh the appeal of Status. Our long-term goal with this change is to build upon this series of changes to allow Status to impact bigger threats like Liches and Eidolons and not just have blanket Immunity.

Faction Aura Changes

There are 3 Auras that target specific Factions:

Infested Impedance, Corrosive Projection, and Shield Disruption.

We are rebalancing the faction Auras to not completely bypass our rebalancing effort. More importantly though, with the complete Enemy defenses rescale these Auras (mostly Corrosive Projection) will not be as necessary as they were.

Why: We think being consistent is key. Passively removing 100% of an enemy's defenses is not an interesting choice, and we were completely inconsistent in this regard with Auras (i.e the efficacy of 4x Corrosive Projections vs 4x Shield Disruptions). Expect these Auras to reach somewhere in the 60-80% Range when 4x are equipped as we are still testing.

Self Damage + AoE Weapons

In addition to Self Damage being removed, some of the more powerful AOE weapons without Self Damage presently will have the Stagger added, but it should only be noticeable in cases of extreme inaccuracy on the player's part. The Weapons include:

Kuva Chakkurr
Opticor
Opticor Vandal
Battacor
Simulor
Synoid Simulor
Ferrox
Astilla
Shedu
Kuva Seer
Cyanex
Staticor
Pox
Tombfinger
Granmu Prism
Exard Scaffold

In the original Dev Workshop, we said:

As a result of this overall systemic change, Weapons with Stagger will be getting approximately a 20% buff in Damage, with any weapons with AOE receiving a 50% Radial Damage Falloff from central impact.

This is no longer accurate after continued testing. What we are doing now is:

No damage buffs have been added, but any weapons with AOE are receiving ~20% increase in Radius. Additionally, AOE weapons are receiving a 90% Radial Damage Falloff from central impact. This means on the very outer section of the explosion Radius 10% of the Damage will be dealt. Tactics will be deadly - aim true, Tenno.

Why: Several players brought up the history of the Tonkor and we want to make sure we ship this change in a place that's conservative in its starting point from a balance perspective. The complete removal of Self Damage does change the pace of destruction with some of the game's most powerful weapons, so we want to make sure we can iterate upwardly instead of releasing a bonanza of explosions with no other choices.

Closing

This post serves as an expansion to the big picture changes coming in Mainline - please ensure you review the original post! We really are changing a lot of the accrued staleness to Warframe's systems to refresh the Modding and gameplay. We will have 15+ Feedback Threads open after the launch, as well as dedicated Bug reporting threads. See you then, Tenno! We are very excited for the whole package of revisions.

Corrosive Projection is bleh now. Time to use the energy aura or something.

Viral:

I got thoughts about this update.

Requiring 21 Arcanes to max out one to rank five is just absolutely unfair to anyone who doesn't participate in Scarlet Spear, assuming that they're even priced fairly for the event. Eidolon drops are so terrible I'm still short of having a rank 3 Grace.

Magus changes are nice for the most part, but I think people will stick with lockdown/elevate/repair still.

Most of the stacking statuses are underwhelming. That said, magnetic will be important to have with the new shield gating mechanics, and viral could be potentially interesting with slash builds. Sad to see the hard halving of health gone, but it might be for the better. It's one of those "have to feel it" things.

It's interesting for them to note they're still trying to work out the numbers on corrosive and shield auras. I think it'll still make them a top pick for their respective factions even if the overall number is reduced, but also their number adjustments for the enemies and how their defenses work might end up "feeling the same" as a four squad strips now

No buffs but harder falloff on explosions is gonna suck.

My viral tekko prime with dual crit and negative status duration riven still looking good. It doesnt happen often, but I would sometimes fight a highly durable enemy like Nox that would keep recovering from my viral proc because of the low duration.

Not looking forward to adding stagger to the staticor. With my multishot riven and bigger blast radius it could potentially be more annoying than self damage with a bramma.

Seems really weird that Blast is being changed to reduce enemy aim, and Impact is going to be the one to cause ragdoll instead. Wasn't that one of the issues people didn't like in the proposed melee 2.5 sometime back? Maybe it will all change again later when they post their update on it.

Shedu's staggar is ridiculous. I've been told Atlas' passive should counteract the stagger but it feels inconsistent for me.

For now I'm just going to start putting Prime sure footed in my exilus slot more often.

Atlas is immune to the stagger as long as both feet are firmly on the ground; that is, he won't flip over. It looks like he still does the bracing animation. The thing is if you put Cautious Shot on, it can cause stagger on him still for... some... reason...

Primed sure footed will 100% stop the stagger and it now appears to allow Quick Thinking's stagger to be rolled out of. Which is fucking huge. Also the Shedu just had its stagger reduced in this last hotfix, it seems like it's better while you're moving but it'll be no good in melee range.

So I fell off the preverbial Warframe horse on Switch and came back to Exilus mod slots on weapons. I bought one off the market since I had a 75% off coupon. Trying to decide which weapon would make the most use of it. Worth it on the Ignis Wraith , Arca Plasmor, Amprex favorites or should i hold on to it for something else?

I'm semi-casual and haven't cleared some of the higher end content. MR13

i think the best use case for them is for weapons that chew through ammo and need ammo mutations to make sure you don't run out. secondary ones would be recoil decrease or projectile speed increase. doesn't seem like any of those weapons fall into those categories though (maybe arca and projectile speed but it's pretty good as is), so it might be best to save it

Ok thanks. I assume only weapon mods marked as exilus can be slotted in that slot . I can't thorw in an extra status mod?

Today I levelled Equinox Prime to 30. I kept being confused why my abilities didn't seem to work as they should, but no, it's Warframe being its obtuse self. How? Well, this is Equinox Prime's "Day Form":

And this is their "Night Form":

My SO and myself would need help with a couple of things:
- In Exploiter Orb, we get disconnected from each other 100% of the time if either of us hosts. I believe it would work if someone else hosts, but I'm not sure.
- Gauss farming. We had a decent run yesterday when it was a fissure, so we're only missing one part, but today we had to ask in Recruit just to have a group, and we got two people who had never done it, told me my weapon is "trash", showed off their riven mods, then proceeded to die ten times in a row while doing pretty much zero damage to the demolysts.

If any of you is interested please shoot me a PM, in-game name is WeltallZero.

This would happen when I tried doing missions on the Plains with my housemate. He didn't stick with the game long so we didn't try finding a solution but I assume being on the same network might have been an issue. Maybe if you try changing ports?

Yeah, we tried changing ports and forwarding them in the router, since Warframe doesn't seem to be able to detect / configure UPnP. That helps with normal missions, and open world to an extent, but Exploiter is still a 100% disconnect. I'm wondering if they've messed something up with the big Revisited update because we didn't have this problem before it.

so due to coronavirus, the in-person portion of TennoCon is canceled

Due to the widespread concerns surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we've made the difficult decision to cancel the attendee event portion of TennoCon 2020. While this was not an easy decision for us to make, the health and well-being of our players and our development team is our top priority.

Sharing the magic and excitement of TennoCon is still incredibly important to us.

We are putting together plans that will enable every Tenno worldwide to digitally share in the magic and excitement of TennoCon on July 11. We'll have more details to share soon.

Wise on their part. Even though it's still a ways off, people are already losing a ton of money on cancelled conventions and events, especially since insurance doesn't cover it. :(

I'm fucking bummed, was looking forward to it again this year, had been planning on meeting a bunch of friends. However we hadn't made any bookings yet so it's not a financial loss.

Like I get it, but damn.

I went last year! It was a ton of fun and this year we were also planning to stay longer for the post-Tennocon staff hangout that they do in the local park. Apparently most of them just gather and play Magic or spend time with whoever.

Started a few days ago and really like it. The movement, shooting, and overall speed is pretty impressive. I may not be playing 100% of the time since I want to play other games but I'll be happy to comeback to this during down periods in game release.

Question: What are some things, during the early game, should I avoid from what I shouldn't pay for, weapons I should hold on to, and activities that are either too early for my or just not worth the reward.

Only things you should be spending platinum on in the early game is frame and weapon slots. Buy and get max mastery rank on all the Mk-1 weapons, then sell them. Some good early guns to work towards are the boltor and the hek. Have a go at all the nodes you can reach. Completing them gives mastery rank. The possible exceptions early on are Cetus and Fortuna as they're filled with high level content.

Rock solid advice from Cosmic Schwung above. I would add: don't install Orokin Reactors or Orokin Catalysts yet; hoard them until you get Prime weapons and warframes. You will get a few of them at the start, and it's easy to assume you'll keep getting them at the same pace that you get warframes, but that's not the case. :D

And some potentially controversial advice: you can try getting a Prime warframe early on. I would suggest Mesa Prime, as it's both very cool, very powerful, and relatively easy to get (in fact the Prime version is much easier to get than the regular version).

To make more platium: read up on how void relics work (ask any questions here), get prime parts, then sell duplicate parts for platinum at warframe.market. You can then use that platinum (but not the 50 plat you get for free, which is also the only plat you'll ever get for free) to buy prime parts from other players.

Due to being cooped up in the house I really want to give this game a chance. I played about a year ago, have a Frost Prime(must have gotten from Twitch or something, don't remember ever making a frame.) Are there any good resources out there to help me figure out this game again?

I continue to be impress with the game's cinematic when first getting to Orb Vallis.

Isn't it lovely? Such a catchy song too. :)
(protip: there's a guy near where you spawn in the city that you can talk to to play the cinematic again).

Googling "Warframe beginner's guide" brings up about a million videos, so the biggest issue is probably choosing between them. Or, if you have the free time, just watch them all. :) Besides that, you're going to spend half of your play time looking at the wiki, it's just what it is. If you can make peace with that, you'll be OK.

In very general terms: get into the Era Dojo (guild) if you haven't. Keep doing missions to open up the star chart and the junctions. Ignore Cetus / Plains of Eidolon / Fortuna / Orb Vallis until pretty much the endgame. Do the quests that you can complete easily, if any of them seems to take too much time, ignore it until later. If you have any specific question, don't hesitate to ask.

Also, to everyone in general that needs help with pretty much anything: contact me in-game if you see me. I'm running out of things to do in the game and I'd love to help some Era bros and sis out there. :D

Uh... did they mean to increase the damage for Titania while airborne? There's no upside there.
