I'm not sure I like that flyer so much, it just needs to look a bit more mechanical on the wings and tail I think. 40k stuff is never that practical, but I just can't see how it wouldn't get the wings torn to pieces in seconds. If they were armoured aquila wings then they'd at least be plausible and look a bit more 40k ish, maybe put some rotors in it so it looked like it would fly. It'd still have that sort of Da Vinci inspired bug look but be a bit more 40k.

The Sister diorama thing looks brilliant.

Christ, I need that Saint Catherine unit yesterday. Also we now have a model for Dune ornithopters, haha.

I forgot to mention I got the SIsters of Battle set so I'm currently working on the models. Here's what I've managed to finish so far:

Also here is the Sister Superior which was supposed to have dark red hair but instead:

Post these in the miniatures thread!

Some of this you may have already seen. Some are early proofs of concept, or "what if?" material, the team has been playing around with. Others may be released as fully realised animated series. As to which of the animations falls into which camp, stay tuned over the coming months for updates. One thing is for sure – there's some incredible Warhammer content coming to your screens.

The first project due for completion is, of course, Angels of Death. We don't know about you, but we think it's coming along rather nicely.

Written by the Warhammer Story Forge (more on those fine wordsmiths soon), Angels of Death is being animated in collaboration with Richard Boylan and Boman Modine. Some of you may remember Richard's striking and atmospheric work from the fan-made animation of the Helsreach audiobook, and Richard and Boman collaborated on Guardsman. Alongside the Warhammer Story Forge, the team is creating something really special – an all-new Blood Angels story brought to visceral life. This is the 41st Millennium you always dreamed of seeing on screen.

You won't have to wait long for more. The first full trailer for Angels of Death will be with us in January – due to debut at the Las Vegas Open Warhammer Preview, it will then be brought to you right here on warhammer-community.com shortly afterwards.

Nice!

Some reckless point changes in the Chapter Approved I think. I don't think GW or anyone else has any idea where the game's balance is now. All I know is that my old Chaos Marine army is way better (welcome back to active duty 3rd edition Obliterators!) and the new Genestealer Cult I'm painting must take an entirely new direction.

I've started reading the Sisters codex and it's so deliciously grimdark. They really go into detail about how fucked up most of the orders are.

I'm surprised the Order of the Bloody Rose hasn't been put down as a Khornate Cult yet.

Also, real happy that the codex shows a variety of scars and burns on the images and they avoided making every sister attractive without making it torture porn.

Also I think the Order of the Golden Light might replace Our Martyred Lady in my heart, that background snippet is great!
Their entire order was confirmed as completely wiped out in battle TWICE and there's no records of them recruiting more women and yet they keep appearing on battlefields again and again.

As a Guard player, the changes to scions are huge. Their damage output is way too high for that sort of points drop.

I'm intrigued by all the new Slaves to Darkness stuff.
I've been building a Nurgle army and last week I bought some plague monks after I realised they could fight alongside Nurgle.
Now the new faction focus says I could field these guys with my army too.

I don't actually play but I still want my collection to make some sort of sense faction-wise!

Yes, in the first part of Age of Sigmar, Clan Pestiliens and Nurgle were allied given their common ground of plagues.

You can yes. In accordance with the official rules a 5th of your army can be composed of a faction that is allied to your core faction (in your case Nurgle) and Slaves to Darkness are allied with Nurgle to allow that to happen. In fact Nurgle are also allied with Beasts of Chaos, Khorne and Slaanesh so if any of those units also take your fancy they are also available to add to your Nurgle force. The one thing to consider if you are trying to keep your army thematically true is that Nurgle hates Tzeentch and it is possible that some of the Slaves units might come with optional Tzeentch icons (banners and the like) which you might want to avoid using. Their are other things to consider if you want to make your force into an actual legal army like battleline units and leaders, if you are just collecting you can ignore them but it might be something to keep in mind if you ever want to take your Nurgle into the actual game.

Man, I hope GW make some upgrade kits for the Chaos Marines in the future. I'm really tempted to do a Nightlords Kill Team after I finish my Ultramarines but I really want the Cool Batwinged helmets.

Edit: I see they still sell the old ones. I am not using those things. They're hideous and they'd clash with the new models designs. Would love to see some new sculpts.

I know you made these posts a week back but out of interest, how are you finding the codex in terms of gameplay rules/list building?

I remember at the start of 8th Index sisters were surprisingly powerful as far as mono-armies go before the beta codex knocked them back down.

Some of the stuff this new codex has like the -2 AP when in cover seems pretty damn strong.

That's interesting, I wonder if they'd work as GSC allies...

You can get a battalion cheaper than the "loyal 32". Less bodies ofcourse but more firepower and deepstriking special weapons options. Narratively you can fit them into whatever special forces-esqye background fluff you want.

Anyone go to Adepticon at all? Registration just opened the other day, and I was going to try to get into the Long War Doubles. It's one of the most popular events and filled up immediately, but...there is no waitlist option like other events? It just says Capacity Full. Kind of confused why.

Legit question:

Do space marines have sex?

Do / did the primarchs have sex?

I suspect chaos space marines do, so what's the deal? Maybe that's a major recruiting point for chaos.

I think there's some mention of the Space Wolves doing it, but by and large they don't. The Grey Knights for example are so mind-scrubbed they barely understand the concept. I don't think any of the primarchs did either.

Thank you! As much as I am tempted I think I am going to try and keep to a single god (Nurgle) army, but with Skaven Pestilens, Beasts of Chaos and Slaves to Darkness tagging along.

I haven't read any of the novels but Games Workshop has steered clear of sex so far, as far as I know. The Slaneesh stuff has been dressed up and more turned to entity of excess rather than straight up sex god.

When the Emperor's Children first fell to chaos, the the humans present started doin' "it" in various ways and the astartes started killing everyone.

Yeah the opera scene has sex.

Yeah, but I don't think the space marines that were there took part. When they gave in on their deep desires and lusts in Slaanesh-fueled excess of sensation it was slaughter they went for, not sexy times. I think that kinda says they just don't have sex drive in them. But yeah, not gonna die on this hill or anything.

Got my sisters box, yay!

Spent the night and only built one mini because it seems I have to cut these "limited edition" minis and try to make conversions. Can't help myself. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure I'd read multiple times in the lore that Astartes (outside maybe the wolves) are sterile and most can't even imagine what arousal is like. This is in part because they're converted before puberty whenever possible. Many never even knew the bodily sensations in the first place.

I'd guess part of Slaanesh's sales pitch to the ECs must have included chaos power allowing those marines to experience sensations they'd been rendered literally incapable of feeling.

Gareth I went through the OP and the ones after it and I'm not sure if I've said it before, but you are doing the Emperor's work especially with the updates you have been doing. Great work!

God that model is awesome. Hate the stupid in-store-exclusive nonsense. There's literally 1 GW store in my state and I'm not driving my dumb ass all the way down there.

Really wanted to use him for my Squat Gaurd army. :(

there are facebook groups where people will buy them for you and ship them for the cost of shipping - avoids the ebay tax!

I feel like I want to gush about Kill Team.

My hobby has been kind on a slow burn for almost two years. I mean, I have painted minis on occasion and even played a few times, but the drive hasn't been there.

Last month I bought the Kill Team core manual because I got it for cheap, 2nd hand. A week ago I had two friends over and we tried the rule set. It was me, as someone with good amount of experience with the 8th edition rules, a friend who is a little familiar and a third friend who had never touched 40k before. So we basically went through the game with rule book in hand and it was awesome. Loved pretty much everything about it. Had a nice scenario for 1 v 1 v 1 and the new guy managed to steal a victory with just one point difference at the end.

I am now making a full board setup for Kill Team. And building my Sisters.

What I am saying is

Yeah, KT is great. I really should finish my Tau team because the annual is already on the way and it'll all be Sisters from the moment the regular kits come out.

KT is what is keeping me in, cause playing standard 40k has been difficult with time, space, money, and also just how often 40k changes. I come back a few months later and all the rules are changing it feels like or i'm outdated in some manner. 40k is frustrating. KT I'm loving

Kill team supports my painting habits. I can paint one terminator or something and it is usable. Getting closer to finishing Bjorn though and I want broken rules for dreads in Kill Team. I play narrative stuff so I really don't care about competitive stuff. My understanding is the custodes rules are already nuts.

Yeah, my true scale Blood Raven tactical marines would love a classic Dreadnought to go with them!

Argh, the new Slaves to Darkness stuff is making me want to start collecting them to compliment my Nurgle army, and I prefer the Godsworn Warband Battleforce box to the new box but they just stopped producing it and it is sold out everywhere. It costs almost twice as much to buy it all separately too.

I decided to knock something together for my local store's Red Gobbo painting comp, going for best converted category rather than best painted though.

I also spotted the Red Gobbo competition GW were running on Twitter and decided to enter my conversion into that too, and won an item off my wish list!
