Most likely talking about Evolve.
Where is Evolve 2? How dare you!
2K owns the rights to Evolve and our contract to work on the game expired back in 2016. Please contact 2K for all Evolve related questions.
L4D broke new ground for its time, more than a decade ago. I played it too and enjoyed my time with it.I'm excited!! Hope this does well for them. I have extremely fond memories of playing looots of L4D2.
Your zombie hate extends even to L4D, a known quality zombie shooter with some of the best FPS co-op?
The game title and this bit really makes it painfully obvious Valve have officially cancelled L4D3...What happened to your other game / partnership?
- We can't get into details but both parties decided to move on.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm not interested in too many of those. I liked L4D because of the campaign structure, the character banter, the horde mechanics, the special infected, replayability, extra modes like Scavenge, and so on. I've yet to see a big game come out that hits quite all those notes for me, and I wonder how many others feel the same. I guess time will tell if the market is still interested in an experience like this in the same way I am. I've tried stuff like Payday or Dying Light, but they're just... not the same. I dropped them within the first couple hours.L4D broke new ground for its time, more than a decade ago. I played it too and enjoyed my time with it.
But this is 2019. Dozens, if not hundreds, of other similar games have been released since then.
I think they meant "next-gen" in a more broad sense.
I agree but as soon as I read the title w/o knowing anything about the game, I thought Left 4 Dead. My guess is that might be the intention and their target audience, Left 4 Dead fansCan't fault them for doing this. Hopefully it's as good as Left 4 Dead. I think that's a pretty terrible name though.
I haven't seen such a blatant rip off name since Evil Within for Reaident Evil
This is actually answered in their F.A.Q.:Very excited for a Turtle Rock Game and all but... couldn't you have maybe done up a trailer with this announcement? Or some nice screenshots at least? Something other than a press release maybe?
With so little to tell us, why are you announcing now?
- Back 4 Blood is a hugely ambitious project and we need the best of the best to come join us. As an independent studio, we have to announce early to let our industry know we're up to something big. If you are in the video game business and you are looking to make real contributions to a brand new AAA IP developed in Southern California, check us out. Our job listings are here with more to come in the next year: https://www.turtlerockstudios.com/careers 1.
We also want to hear from you all about what you think about the games we've made in the past and what you are looking forward to in the future. We love getting to know and interact with our community and the sooner we can do that, the better!
Good that's what I want šSounds like it is literally "left 4 dead 3 but we don't own that IP"
Both Left4Dead games were so much fun. The genre has moved on quite a lot since then though but I'm optimistic.
Seems early in development, a bit like the Cyberpunk announcement in 2012 to advertise it to potential devs.
