Warriors GM confirms Kevin Durant has suffered an Achilles injury

Yeah achilles injuries are super easy to spot when they happen. Watch the replay and you can see the tell tale pop up the leg. I'm not sure the original calf injury would have lead to an achilles tear like that, but I don't really understand the mechanics involved.

I think KD will stay another year and rehab and come back at the start of the playoffs
Playoffs start end of April so plenty of time to rehab

Guy was a warrior though, risking his health to help his team out

It really depends on what the market for him is like because he might just want to secure some money.

I think what people are forgetting is a guy like KD isn't just going to have one doctor, at that level he's seeing multiple independent specialists and getting many opinions. This shit isn't an exact science and there's no reason to paint this as Dubs doctors pushing him out there

KD was in an impossible position. The same people saying he should have never played injured would have called him a pussy until the end of time if he'd blanked on the finals.

This really sucks for KD and I hope he fully recovers. Kobe was never the same after his Achilles injury.

Fuck the team, they just cost him potentially hundreds of millions of dollars by pressuring him to come back and play on a structurally compromised leg.

Lmao man the mis information people eat up by the media, Klay was on nba tv saying that story was fake. No one forced him to play or questioned why he couldn't play.

Klay said they felt bad for him cause they know he wanted to play so bad and felt his frustration. Media can twist shit and when u get the message it already misinterpreted

Lmao you don't know what your talking about everyone will still give him the max, spurs gave Kawhi 230 million he turned it down. People saying this cost kd millions don't know shit If he opts out he still getting 160+ million for 4 years

Yeah, it was a lose-lose situation for him either way and encapsulates what I hate about some fans in regards to their views on injuries.

Again he said they felt his frustration of not being out there, it's not far fetch people twisting that, and beside who's the originally source of the rumor.

I'm assuming Durant was taking advice from medical professionals on that it was safe to come back and play tonight, he never should have played if they knew the original injury was Achilles related. It's just too risky.

Terrible news for one of the league's best to go down with this injury.

No doubt he can get there. He can even get 25. But his defense and overall ability will not be the unstoppable mvp Durant we all know. That guy is unfortunately no more. The league took a big hit tonight. Oh yeah and some assholes cheered it on.

100% this. Fuck tp and others for putting pressure on him. Kawhi is STILL dealing with quad tendonitis. He may have to the test of his career. Tendonitis is something near impossible to manage for the average person if it gets out of hand, now imagine being a world class athlete and trying to keep it in check. Fuck skip Bayless.

If Derrick Rose's busted ass can be pulling in $200mil from sponsorships after 2011, KD is going to be just fine.
