It's sad to see this happen to him. I don't like GS at all but no one deserves this. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Fucking horrible. No player deserves this. Thoughts out to KD. I might have my difference with his decisions, but he is still an amazing player. Hope he can recover quickly and be able to get back and play at a high level.

Y'all still might get Kyrie
Doesn't want to come here

Also no one else will want to come here either now, even if we just signed KD, despite the injury.. they'd be playing by themselves + a roster that won 17 games last year. Trading for AD also at this point would be completely insane

This absolutely kills everything

We just need to tank again and use the cap space to help other teams dump bad contracts and get some more picks and young players

Some of the best doctors in the world cleared this nigga to play when it was obvious he wasn't gonna be ready. Fucking trash.

The Warriors failed him. No way he should've been out there, especially on the eve of free agency. That team don't give a fuck about him.

What does he do at this point? Accept his player option and remain with warriors for one more year? Or is this about to be a Kawhi situation in the sense that he's lost faith and trust in warriors organization?
It's not a Kawhi thing where he said he wasn't good to play and the Spurs didn't believe him and pushed him to play. KD fucked himself here and he shouldn't blame anyone else. Players shouldn't trust any team doctor with career threatening injuries.

This is why Leonard was right to sit out last year. Fuck team doctors

There's gonna be so much shit from this.

Days ago he wasn't even cleared to run and hadn't even been cleared to practice but then they lose game 4 and then he's cleared to practice and cleared to play. It's obvious to literally everyone, and probably even KD, that he was going to be playing hurt. Did he fully understand just how hurt? Who had the final say here?

I expect to see a shit ton of WOJ tweets over this.

Bingo.

It all stinks. Hell, all we heard all week was how the Warriors were openly questioning why he wasn't playing.

They can say what they wanna say to the media, they pushed that nigga on the court to protect their dynasty, knowing full well he wasn't fine.

Maybe hindsight is 20/20, but that injury always looked like an Achilles. Always. There's no way they missed that.

"We're gonna space his load" and then played him 12 out of 14 minutes lol.

The league don't give a fuck about the players.

Very unfortunate for KD. When your top player is injured, you should always take a cautionary approach. Best wishes to KD and have a Speedy recovery!

On a side note... the cheering by raptor fans of KD's injury was classless as hell. The desperation and thirst of raptors winning their first championship is real.

Agree, NBA needs independent medical staff overseeing this shit

I mean, the NFL has one of those too that "clears" head injuries.

The players association should have medical staff actually looking out for their union members interests and taking the heat when a player isn't ready to go.

Fuck the league. I'd like to see all the Players Associations across all the leagues take control of "team doctors" so they actually put the athletes first. Relying on doctors being paid by your employer is a recipe for disaster.

People gotta understand that just because these guys make a ton of money doesn't mean they aren't having their labor exploited by those immensely more wealthy and powerful.

The PA's for all the leagues need to demand FAR more democratic oversight and process management. It's a joke, a lot of these guys end up significantly impaired for life because of malpractice like this.

Lmao man the mis information people eat up by the media, Klay was on nba tv saying that story was fake. No one forced him to play or questioned why he couldn't play.

Klay said they felt bad for him cause they know he wanted to play so bad and felt his frustration. Media can twist shit and when u get the message it already misinterpreted

Yes, Klay Thompson would 100% confirm the organization pushed KD to injure himself for the sake of defending their dynasty. You're right.

It looks like a torn Achilles. Very few players come back from this type of injury and be 100%. It really affects your lump shots and your foot movement.

The problem with that is, what if a player wants to play? In that case you're going to a doctor you paid for to get an opinion you want.
There's no easy solution for this. There's no way in hell that a player of KDs stature did not go to multiple independent specialists on this

They got what they wanted. Now they can shed their crocodile tears, spin, deflect and ultimately shove KD aside.

Remeber that d-bag who shoved Lowry, thats the real face of the GS ownership.

KD died for GS's win.
To bad he won't be getting a cross and his career isn't resurrecting after that injury.

A win that ultimately might not even matter. That's what's really wild.

It'd still be unacceptable, but I could sort of see it tonight had been a Game 7 situation. They were down 3-1. They would've trotted him out there for 3 more possible games, knowing he wasn't good to go.

Fucking wild.

And many of them wind up broke because they are high income earners but turning high income into large wealth isn't easy when your income earning days are limited by age.

Meanwhile these leagues operate monopolies and a bunch of billionaires set salary caps because they just can't possibly pay more than some made up number.

At least MLB and the competitive landscape of international soccer(football) get players paid something close to their actual value.

But the NBA/NFL is a god damned joke of inequity but heaven help the players association if they go on strike.

He wanted to play.

People act like KD is just a robot, he cares about his teammates and team, people don't want to give him that and hounded him relentlessly over petty shit for several years.

He was gonna play. It's sad it went this way.

Him wanting to play does not matter here. The team has to clear him. They shouldn't have done so, regardless of his desire to get back.

The player wants to play because they are a competitor. Someone needs to prevent their dumb ass from playing when it isn't safe.

But we don't know what the behind the scenes here booked like.. we know KL was actively and publicly being called a liar by his team last year.

Fuck pop for that one and I'm a Spurs fan.

This is unaceeptable !

All that pressure media put on KD to play when CLEARLY he wasn't ready. Nobody wins here, everybody loses. I hope KD will have a great recovery.

I don't want to hear the "old school" guys. I was listening to the Stephen A or Gary Payton saying back in the day, players wiuld have played. Total BS. Achilles is serious, some are never the same players again after such injury.

This situation is fucked. Hate to see this happen to KD, he's a brilliant player and a cool dude. He's basically going to miss an entire year if this is a proper rupture. Boogie came back kinda quick but it's clear he's not the same.

People also have to knock it off with the "CLEARLY WASN'T READY." Dude was balling just fine before this happened. It's not like he came out and had no lift or explosiveness. Enough with the witch hunt. It ain't like the Warriors are thrilled about this. They're fucking gutted.

Not a Warriors fan but I am a fan of basketball, and it sucks seeing the best get seriously hurt. I hope this doesn't play out like Derrick Rose's injury situation. He never fully came back.

Players have likely played in far worse shape than that. Dude was dancing in the tunnel before hand.

People maybe also need to breathe and quit with the "WWE stuff" of trying to cast players as villains and thinking they're just 2D caricatures.

KD cares about the team and his teammates. If he didn't give it a go then it would just be a ton of "well he never gave a shit, he was just a gun for hire who sat out the Finals on purpose".

So many haters 20 feet up the dude's ass. I knew he was gonna try to play, I said it before in the series thread. Unless it was a situation where he literally couldn't jog, he was going to try to play.

It's why I said he fucked himself. We all know KD was pushing to play and the team doctors didn't stop him because him playing would be good for the team. That's what needs to change.

As someone who had this injury (total rupture) a few years back, i feel so bad for him. Im not the same and never will be but hopefully he can get there, he has the best physio/surgeons etc.. i strongly believe it was related to first injury.. so sad.

He showed signs this year. He was balling out. D. Rose had a lot going on up top. I wouldn't put his post-injury performance solely on his physical body limitations.
