WhatDefine hate speech. The supream court ruled that hate speech is cover under the 1st amendment because their is no way to define it. Anything could be considered hate speech.
You'd think this would be simple to grasp for people, especially with historical precedence. But alas, here we are.
Facebook if they do not want to be considered a publisher, or Twitter if they do not want to be considered a publisher. You know these giant social media forums that like to hide behind the law when it comes to liable but also want to pretend it does not apply to them when they start censoring content and people.
I don't like Milo. I think he has a right to his opinion though. He should have every right to say what he wants in a public forum as long as it is not a call to action. You know like yelling fire in a building full of people.
If we do it y'alls way we end up banning all speach because it today's world everyone finds everything offensive one way or another.

I agree with Jaffe. I'll take free speach over censorship any day of the week. Just remember you could be next.
Private entities not allowing speech that they disagree with THEIR platform isn't banning anything, unless you'd be fine with me coming into your home and speaking shit about you, your partner, and your kids. You shouldn't be able to throw me out of the house, you should allow me my opinion. After all, free speech.Facebook if they do not want to be considered a publisher, or Twitter if they do not want to be considered a publisher. It should be.
This is not censorship. It's shutting down a hateful voice that should never have a voice to begin with. Deplatforming works and for people like milo deserve it. Jaffe is wrong here.I agree with Jaffe. I'll take free speach over censorship any day of the week. Just remember you could be next.
On my country the people that go to colleges to speak are actual , known experts in the area that have something to teach the audience. We don't bring random insane people from the streets to screech at an audience for an hour. What kind of insane colleges are y'all attending?I haven't watched the whole video, but I get his point about college. College is where you're supposed to learn to question stuff and judge things for yourself. It makes sense to me that you need to expose people to both good and bad so they can learn to judge for themselves and tell the difference. Surely full censorship or erasure of (bad) ideas is how we get history to repeat itself.

Yep. He should have been deplatformed for his hate speech but regardless, suggesting re-platforming Milo is literally advocating for a paedophile to talk about why he thinks paedophilia is alright.what Jaffe is forgetting here is that Milo wasn't de-platformed because he's a nazi fuck. It was because he was defending paedophilia.

No we can't be next because we dont spout lies, ignorance and hate.
Remains ever true. "Tolerate intolerance" will only ever lead to disaster because the intolerant aren't looking for any meaningful dialogue, only to exploit.
Honestly this. Jaffe is twat trying to give pedo's & racists a voice.Stick to things you are well versed in Jaffe, like making games that don't sell.
Wait, Milo Yanaswhatever is still relevant?
I thought people started ignoring him.
I agree with Jaffe. I'll take free speach over censorship any day of the week. Just remember you could be next.
Milo is not given a gag in his mouth, he can still spout whatever he wants, finding an audience is his problem. Twitter, Facebook et al. are not beholden to give him a platform.

Sometimes voices against certain progressive ideologies are labeled hate speech, which is what I have a problem with.
Not all cases are clear cut, and that's when a discussion should be had.
Milo is a known charlatan though and he was given more attention than he deserves.
Races are protected classes under the law.How would you feel if I said Facebook would no longer accept people of a certain race? No one is owed a platform right?
Also for what I can tell is Jaffe is talking about an open forum period. You know the public square aka a public college campus. A place where all ideas should be able to be shared.
You know like all the Marxist bull we hear be spread now. You don't see riots for people trying to ban Marx from college campuses.
