Bordighera (Imperia)
My name is Davide and I come from Bordighera (Italy), I'm 40 years old and I collect Vg since 1986.

My target are MGS & Final Fantasy items, but I like also old Nec-Sega and Nintendo's stuff.

Been playing games a long time, so it's kind of hard to list out everything I'm into but I'll put forward a few of my absolute series: Zelda, Final Fantasy, Streets of Rage, Phantasy Star, Mega Man, Castlevania, Mario, Metroid, Senran Kagura, Street Fighter, Doom, Diablo, Monster Hunter, Forza, Gears of War, Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear, Contra, Lunar .....haha, yeah it just goes on.

I hope to get to make new friends here and have fun. Well, hope to see ya around

Hey everyone! I've had an account here for a while but only now have really started using it. I'm Cosmo and I'm a software engineering student from Canada. Massive Nintendo fan (have owned every single Nintendo console since the DS Lite) but I also own a PS4 which I use sometimes, and occasionally play stuff on PC. As a software developer I do dabble in gamedev myself, have done a few small solo projects. Also a big music enthusiast with pretty diverse taste :p

Was tired of the constant toxicity of gaming communities on platforms like Reddit and Twitter, and this place seems a lot more chill and levelheaded, so I'm looking forward to spending more time here. And hi to everyone who introduced themselves above me!

Hi everyone! Been creeping around for a while and I like the vibe here. Do most of my gaming on Steam but have always made room for Pokemon too! Picked up a Switch a couple months ago and currently having a really hard time putting down Dragon Quest Builders 2. Glad to meet you all!

Hello everyone, I'm from Brazil and, as many of us, I lurked for quite a bit before creating an account. That only happened because I got a work email address that got accepted here
I'm mainly interested in RPGs and general weird games from Japan.

Not hating on you but do you mean socially liberal? Because hardcore leftism and capitalism don’t mix well, and the few true attempts to reconcile the two don’t leave much room for fiscal conservatism.

Not trying to start a fight, just wondering how you can justify that, unless you mean socially liberal.

Like the mod The Woods said, this is probably a discussion for another time. Always happy to talk the ol 'tics though.

Hiya, I've been lurking for quite a while, but only recently found the time to say hello. I won't say the giveaway thread didn't encourage me, but before that I hadn't even the time to notice it! 😅

I'm a reluctant 24 year old, split between Europe and Australia -- hopefully soon settling in the latter. I've had a colourful life that would shock some people, but at my core I'm also horribly boring and a stuffy academic sort. Lately been playing a lot of Paradox GSGs, but I play just about everything -- all my spare cash bascially goes to books or games.

よろしくお願いします~~ you can call me Kairi or Theodora. 😊💖

If you happen to be a nihilist or an anarchist, please do say hi~!

I used to call myself an anarchist, but now I tend to go more broadly as just a socialist.

Heh, tbh I'm barely comfortable with the term anymore because people usually assume it means ancom (and if you say you're not that, they might think you're an ancap, or something else just as hideous). But more honestly I'm somewhere between "egoism", anprim, and anti-civ positions. Post-left anarchy is a big fancy term for it I suppose, but nihilist is (ever so marginally 😛) less pretentious sounding, and means something to the less informed, whereas the former means stone nada.

I'd still smile if someone like Corbyn won the next general election for example; I just think one needs to be cognisant of how much things can change within the system. I've been in a poverty for a long time, which helps with seeing how any of this is too slow to be worthwhile; but I also know first hand how easy it is to become more and more centrist with material comfort. Hell, being a jaded bougie makes more sense than most positions.

What made you 'revert' to socialist? As equally as mine, the term can mean so many different things.

My big issue with anarcho-primitivism is that with such a large population it's impossible to feed everyone with primitive techniques. Only technological advancement, and multiple people working together to use the technology, is possible to maintain the production needed to require food safety. Unless I'm misunderstanding it.

I reverted to socialist because I decided that it was more the economic system that was important to me, and I don't know how anarchism could be spread on an international scale (I believe that socialism can only work as a global movement, or else external + internal threats would cause its collapse).

Not to let this thread get too ... off point, but to be honest almost everyone who isn't an anprim seems to miss what we're about; and is happy to let the vaguely green anarchist jerks speak for the rest of us. But for example, "anprim is transphobic" is practically a meme at this point, but I don't think I personally know a single cis anprim.

Re: the food thing, I'd suggest as a simple start to try to look at anarcho-primivitism as a critique more than a plan for the world (though I understand given the inherent enlightenment and industry stances within socialist branches of anarchism why they assume the same on the rest of us.

Dr. Layla AbdelRahim is fantastic, check her out maybe :) https://revolutionaryleftradio.libsyn.com/website/anarcho-primitivism-civilization-symbolic-culture-and-revolutionary-rewilding
