You'll probably get some bites, a lot of shows ended in a unsatisfactory way for some people. And you know threads thrive on discourse. Even if it's just grievances that the showrunners weren't able to get all their ideas through before the hammer fell.

So there's a Kickstarter for the second season of Peepoodo from Balak (Lastman, Les Kassos). They couldn't get it funded through normal means because it was too graphic for normal content providers but not graphic enough for pornographic ones. NSFW link. The first season was a fun watch and a surprisingly progressive show. It's available for free on the official website.

The Owl House looks like it's going to have really fluid fights (for a Western cartoon anyway).

Oh hey, actual animation for a bit.
Mera's entire thing was handled oddly. They didn't explain why Molly wanted her epithet again until Mera was arrested, so it was weird that she decided she didn't want to lose it even though it would help Mera.
Still, nice wrap up to this first arc. And hey, a character at the end that isn't in the opening credits!

Anyone check out the new Cartoon Network minisode "Pops and Branwell"? It was an amusing little short.

Any good shows on Prime Video? I tried the search function but nothing looked interesting to me after few pages :/ (The UI is horrible to find new shows)

Huh, I didn't expect this to be only seven episodes. It was a bit disappointing that there were actually two arcs with mostly separate sets of characters, so the characters in the OP don't actually all interact, but I enjoyed it.

The message at the end says they'll still need a lot of support for season 2 to happen.

This last arc for Epithet Erased was so good

I think this was my favourite gag tbh:

I *really* hope we get a Season 2, I need more of these characters in my life

I haven't actually watched the original tabletop campaign EE is based on, but I know a few of the characters end up meeting and interacting

Also they've been tossing around a bunch of ideas for a Season 2 for a good while now. One idea is an IndieGogo campaign and there's an other idea I... can't seem to find, but I swear was mentioned. I think it was some sort of audio drama? All I remember was that the idea involved all the VA"s for EE

It's hilarious, I highly recommend it too!

The twist with the
mantis' girlfriend
had me shook too, it's so obvious looking back but I didn't put 2 and 2 together lol

They also announced seasons 2 & 3 a few months ago, really keen to see how they'll turn out.

Soon.™

EM-NKx3UcAAfxop.jpg

that's PM, btw

looks like Dana's counting down to the premiere

Gonna scrape together an OT for the the show's premiere. I wasn't going to do it originally, but as the air date grew closer I figured I might as well. I'll have it up Friday morning but I'll probably still be at work by the time the show airs on DTV so I won't be able to comment until much later. Assuming of course Disney doesn't release the episode early in the interim on their DisneyNOW app like cable networks tend to do these days.

I'm kind of surprised The Owl House wasn't just moved onto Disney+. It feels aimed toward an older audience than most Disney animated shows. I feel it would get more traction and help Disney+'s lack of original content right now.

I don't think they want to completely cannibalize their signature TV channel of new content. The complete first season will show up on D+ once the season finale airs, though.

I'm curious if it will be a complete first season drop, or if they will just once they know when the final of the first season will drop, start dropping episodes once a week so they can release the last episode about 3 weeks after it airs on tv.

sounds like a full drop
she follow up by adding "i think" which is fair since showrunners rarely know what's going on behind the scenes on the networks they produce content for

I'm sure DisneyNOW and other VOD like Spectrum will have each episode go up as they air if that's what you're looking for. In fact, pretty sure they'll do their usual "go live digitally on midnight on the day of release" thing like they did for the entirety of Amphibia's S1 run, allowing people to view the episode hours before it airs on TV.

Ah good to know. I was mostly curious for trying to get friends who don't have cable to watch it :P Most of them got disney+ as well now.

Shows like Big City Greens and Amphibia deserve more exposure.

I should watch Big City Greens. As for Amphibia I enjoyed it enough that I will watch season 2 when it comes, but not enough to recommend to anyone. It was a very average show for me, where basically for everything it did I really liked it did something I hated.

But since I enjoy isekai shows in general I'm in for another season :P

Amphibia is a show with an interesting story to tell, but it decides not to start telling that story until the very end of the season and fills the remaining episodes with what feels like filler.

Already posted in the old OT, but a reminder that Infinity Train Book 2 starts airing this week, starting tonight at 7:30pm.

that seems like a fair judgement.
when the show was focused on what it was doing it was solid.
that filler though.... they couldn't even keep the characters consistent and it drove me nuts. Half of the filler episodes just feel like generic plots from other shows reskinned to try to fit in amphibia, and since the characters start off a bit different than your standard kids show the only way to make them fit is to go completely out of character :/

The Anne can't even be bothered to comb her hair regularly or get a second shoe, but yet I'm supposed to believe she's the type of person that cares about looking pretty and getting make overs for an episode?

She's the type of character who is clearly an adventurous tomboy so I'm supposed to believe that she is going to spend an episode trying to get polly to act more girly only to get the lesson that it's fine to be true to yourself? Which I mean is a fine lesson in general, but just outright doesn't work with the leads of amphbia.

amphibia was frustrating as hell to watch because almost none of the episodes were good and they kept stretching what thin of a mystery they had

i dont have much expectations for season 2 because they would have not gotten feedback for the first season by the time they started producing it

Lots of premieres this month.

Only one more week before Netflix debuts another animated show, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.

After spending her entire life living in an underground burrow, a young girl named Kipo is thrust into an adventure on the surface of a fantastical post-apocalyptic Earth. She joins a ragtag group of survivors as they embark on a journey through a vibrant wonderland where everything trying to kill them is downright adorable.

The cast features Karen Fukuhara (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) as the enthusiastic and curious "Kipo;" Sydney Mikayla (General Hospital) as "Wolf," a weapon-wielding survivor who knows the ins and outs of the surface; Coy Stewart (The Blacklist) as the happy-go-lucky "Benson;" Deon Cole (black-ish) as "Dave," a talking insect who has the jarring ability to suddenly age a full life cycle without warning; and Dee Bradley Baker (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) as the adorable mutant pig "Mandu".

Also lending their voice talents for season 1 are Sterling K. Brown (Frozen II) as Kipo's father "Lio Oak;" Dan Stevens (Legion) as the power-hungry "Scarlemagne;" Lea Delaria (Orange Is the New Black) as Timbercat "Molly Yarnchopper;" Joan Jett as rocker snake "Camille;" and John Hodgman and GZA (Wu Tang Clan) as the cosmically-curious wolves "Billions and Billions."

Season 1 Trailer:

Kinda sounds like there might already be a Season 2 in the works.

The recent season of Ladybug sounds like a complete mess.

Hasn't Ladybug always been an incredibly shallow show that basically copied its structure/character dynamics after Sailor Moon? I've never really understood the popularity behind it.

What kind of mess are we talking about? Animation? Story?

I'm referring to the story and the hallow characters.

you gotta elaborate. im dying for this tea
I'm not exactly sure what they are talking about but there were clearly two episodes of ladybug this season that were meant to air later.

near the middle point of the season there was an episode that basically had all the sailor scouts when we hadn't met half of them, and later in the season were their origin stories.

and then I forget what was clearly off about the other episode.

I don't know what happens in the end of the season, I need netflix to put up the next episodes.

Chloe becomes a full-fledged villainess and exposes the identities of Ladybug's allies.

shit, I need to get that OT polished up quick

As for Miraculous, that show's had their episodes' release order all out of wack since Day 1. Didn't the origin episode that explained when Marionette got her Miraculous not air until the 2nd half of the first season began to be released? I feel for the fans.

It was the season finale, in fact. However, I think that was intentional. There weren't any big things that made it a bad first episode, but there was a wink wink "I get the feeling every adventure will go like this" joke from Cat Noir.
