what are you really good at and why?

I read a lot from a young age which led to me wanting to write. I've been doing creative writing since I was 8, so I've had a lot of time to practice. I've always liked computers, and, luckily for me, my grandad likes them too. he got me programming from a pretty young age, which led to me going to university for CS
if I didn't have to worry about getting a job, I'd definitely have done English instead of computer science at university
edit: I'm also quite good at poker, I always make a bunch of money at my uni's casino nights

Basically the only thing that I *think* I'm good at is making people laugh. The reason for this would be practice - I'm not afraid to share a joke or make a comment that may or may not land with everyone. I also try to pay attention to the type of humor the people around me might enjoy.

I would have to say that I'm really good at adapting. It seems like a cop-out answer, but throw me into any situation and I tend to adapt very quickly.
This has the unfortunate side-effect of being referred to as a "Jack-of-all-trades" at work.
I guess i would have to pick programming if I had to pick one skill I'm really good at.

I'm really good at suppressing feelings of anger, disappointment, and unhappiness, as well as hiding depression. How'd I get so good at it? Years of practice.
I used to be good at a lot of stuff. I used to be a pretty good artist, I used to be knowledgeable about things that were handy like computer repair, back in school I used to gen a creative writer that earned high marks and a lot of praise from teachers.
All of it just kind of... went away.

I'm a decent home cook. Only took 15 years of doing it at least three times a week. I can't create recipes, but I can read them, adjust them, and recognize the good ones before making them.

I can throw a no look, over the shoulder, one handed three pointer basketball about 3 times out of 10. Which doesn't sound like a lot but it's sorta good. Nowhere near that good throwing it properly tho lol.
I am also "good" or rather "competent" at the extremely simplistic and reductive SWAT mode in Halo.
I have a natural affinity for cycling and can do centuries without any serious training right at the beginning of summer when it's finally pleasant enough to go ride. Don't know how long that will last but I ride a recumbent bike every day for an hour so that's arguably some training. I'm not fast or technically skilled but I finished in the top 10% every day during the AIDS ride from SF to LA. But mostly because I wanted to crack the seal on the fresh, unused portapotty/HoneyBuuckets at each campsite because if you didn't get there first... well imagine hundreds of middle aged people who've eaten 4000 calories of energy bar and Gatorade all day....
I am good at rhyming vocabulary and spent all that talent on long form dirty limericks rather than insightful raps or proper poetry.
I can dive competently and not scared of heights or water. I prefer to jump from ocean cliffs tho in case the depth is illusory or affected by the surf. I'd rather break my legs than my skull. I AM scared of heights by proxy and can't watch OTHER people do that.
I hunt and peck type but at about 60-80 wpm.
I can eat anything spicy no matter how spicy it is but that's more like a gap in my ability to judge scale. I don't have a sense for the difference between say a grilled habanero and a scotch bonnet oil. I can taste the flavor difference but inadequately gauge the spiciness.
I can do a lot of proper, good form push ups - like 100 -- and if I train for a couple of weeks about 20-30 bad form chin ups. But I would remain kinda fat. My ability to have abs vanished about a decade ago regardless of weight.

I'm a decent communicator. In my job I need to be able to convey relatively advanced information effectively to people of differing socioeconomical backgrounds, ages and education levels. Sometimes in small groups, occasionally to larger groups or an actual audience. For the most part in my mother tounge, but occasionally in english. Privately I also play a lot of board games, and am generally the person who explains the rules to the other participants, which can be challenging in its own right.
The funny thing is I used to be shy as hell, so I feel some satisfaction in being able to unironically type this post.

Same here I seem to really have a knack for making terrible life choices.
Wiring stuff and troubleshooting wiring. Lots of experience.
Although I recently made a fairly expensive mistake at work, burned up 25k worth of electronics from a really stupid oversight. I know what I did, just wired some shit up and old habits got the best of me and I didn't mind polarity on some DC equipment...
Felt like shit. Company was able to find 20k worth of the material left over from another project so could have been worse. My managers were surprisingly rational about it.
Won't make that mistake again :/

music performance stuff. took percussion all through middle/high school and took guitar lessons starting around 12. fun hobby, but kinda wish i would've learned a language instead lol.
