My first experience with video games was with my dad's old ZX Spectrum. Very few of the games ran reliably, but of those, my most-played were:

Atic-Atac

I'm pretty sure this was my favourite game among the lot. It was sort of like Zelda with its top-down perspective and searching for keys.

Manic Miner

Fuck me, those sound effects were grating. I guess this was the first platformer I ever played?

Alchemist

I wasn't 100% what I was doing in this one at the time, lol. I mainly just liked transforming into an eagle...

Jetpac

From what I remember, you're collecting pieces of your spaceship while defending yourself.

Barebones port (even with some unfixed bugs), but still good nostalgia trip (especially enhanced music from Amiga)

Chaos Battle OF The Wizards, up to 8 player turn based multiplayer from Julian Gollop

Can play against the AI but really shines with mates.

To many football games to mention but my favourites were

The Double, like a predecessor to Championship Manager

Brian Clough's Football Fortunes, part computer game part board game.
