What do you think of fireworks?

I think they’re really boring. I don’t find anything exciting about some colors flashing in the sky. Maybe I’m just over exposed to explosions in games and movies but I don’t understand the urge for people to leave their homes, go sit in the grass for a few hours around people you don’t know as you wait for it to get dark enough for them to light the fireworks, and then like 10 - 20 minutes of the same thing over and over again.

Given the amount of fireworks I see and hear in the summer, I feel I’m in the minority. What do you think of them?

Though I do feel for pets, pet owners and vets right now.

Okay, NOW I remember. Almost set a friend's back porch on fire trying to help adust their fire works. That's why I stopped caring about them. Aiming them higher ended up sending them toward us.

I think it's worth seeing a really top-notch fireworks display (like the ones in Boston, NYC, SF) up close once in life. The combo of sight and sound is pretty cool.

Nah, can't agree with this. Everyone know fireworks shows are all about dat grand finale climax. Everything else is just foreplay.

I feel like it does. I'm in a pretty crowded area and have only heard two or three in the past week. People are probably more likely to fire them off in rural areas, but I can't speak to that.

The 4th itself is a different story, definitely a blind eye then. But I feel like people get it out of their system. I can live with it for one night.

The Trumpers that live behind me started shooting off aerial fireworks at 9AM this morning and haven't let up all day. The entire region is under red flag advisory due to the combination of heat and high winds. They live at the top of a hill we are at the bottom of. We have plenty of giant trees. They caught my neighbor's yard on fire a few years ago. And there's nothing I can do about it until after midnight. Right across the street they are all illegal, we live just beyond the line. So we've just been soaking our yard, garden and roof as much as possible and counting down the hours until it's prohibited.

Had to send my dog away too, I thought he was gonna drop dead he was so scared last year. Fuck fireworks

Worse than that is having to see what they do to my dog and there isn't really much I can do to calm her down. It's frustrating.

Never been to Disney but the shows they do look like the only ones worthwhile.

Love them. Have my whole life. There's nothing like the smell of sulfur and the feeling of all the explosions reverberating in your chest. And if they are timed to music, like Disney shows, even better.

They are cool. They do light projections on the castle while the fireworks are going off, it is really fun to watch. I honestly did not think I would ever get excited about fireworks again until I saw a Disney show a few years ago

But people setting them off in neighborhoods at night for hours, putting on crappy shows, freaking out vets, scaring pets, and keeping people up who have to go to work who can't close their windows because it's fucking hot and humid...

I think they should be banned from sale to the public, and only available to see at organised displays on special occasions. The amount of dumbasses I wouldn't trust to open a can of fucking beans, yet we're fine selling them cheap explosives every year to commemorate a dickhead who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. It's never just 5th of November either, it's weeks before and after of my poor cats crawling around the house on their bellies because a bunch of douchebags want to fire shit off.
