Pokémon series overall yeah I've definitely hit over 2k hours. About 300 alone in Diamond, god knows how many in Emerald.

People counting the whole Pokemon series as one?

Yeah then it will be between Pokemon and Halo for me if I also count the whole series.

Single game it should be Halo 3

I don't know how people can put thousands into one game. I love video games, but no game has inspired me to spend 1000s of hours on it. Here's my top three:

MMO's are the only example I would ever do this with. I could never put 1000's of hours into a single player game like BoTW for example or even a standard MP game like CoD but MMO's are completely different. WoW is in no way the same game now as it was 15 years ago for instance and with new content every few months and new expansions every 2ish years it always has something new to do for the most part.

On Steam, my highest playtime is around 2,800 hours for Counter-Strike Source, but it didn't start counting hours until I'd already been playing for over a year (hours played was not tracked in the early days of Steam). If you count Counter-Strike betas through 1.6 as a singular game, I would have easily passed the 10,000 hour mark on Counter-Strike, even without taking Source or GO into account.

5k+ in League of Legends
2.5k+ in Overwatch
2k hours in TERA
1k in GW2
1k~ in Shadowverse
427 in Apex
300+ on (each) mainline Pokémon games (only because I enjoy online battles so much)
300 in Xenoblade

Don't play online games, kids.

Probably Final Fantasy XI. I dumped a lot of time into that one. Then WoW and now FFXIV *-sobs-*

Non-MMO? Probably The Binding Of Isaac Rebirth.

Beside going to the arcade and playing Street Fighter 2 it has to be the first black ops. I must have had close to 600 hours with that game.

2000 in Halo 5. Nothing else has even been in the ball park. I had a serious addiction. Like needed rehab. Fortunately I've got it under control now.

Sea of Thieves with what I'm guessing is 1,000+ hours. Before it was Animal Crossing GC and Team Fortress 2 with around 500 hours each.

According to steam, I've played Dota 2 for about 1750 hours, so probably that.

The other other contenders are Rock Band 3 or Modern Warfare.

WoW for sure. 20+ hours a week for 5 years.
1000 hours between Destiny 1 and 2.
Currently at 600 hours in Monster Hunter World, and counting.

Binding of Isaac by far. Steam alone 922 hours but PC, PS4 and Switch combined should be 2000+ hours. I love this game.

Skyrim at ~200 hours (over a couple versions) or Binding Isaac at ~300 over several years.

How in the world do you folks put thousands of hours into games that only came out a few years ago??

Gran Turismo 3 - Countless hours spent running laps trying to improve personal times and creating racing scenarios for myself against the AI on PS2.

Motorstorm - Joined a online community around this during PS3 launch, we all got together and pretty much played the on a nightly basis for months and a weekly basis for years... still keeping in contact (and playing games) with a lot of said people 10+ years later.

Smite - My first MOBA (via PS4), was surprised by how much more reliant it was on team-play compared to other MP games I had played up to that point. Have spent many hours just enjoying it at a casual level, playing with each character has kept the experience fresh and fun.

Destiny 1/2: Playing almost nightly to start with and then completing Raids/Nightfalls on a weekly basis as we (another game I played almost exclusively with the people I met via Motorstorm) had completed everything available. Fell off Destiny 2 far quicker than 1 however.

Warcraft III or Dota 2.

The former I remember extremely fondly, the latter I almost entirely regret bothering with.

Pokémon Blue on gbc a single save file with close to 800 hours

Pokémon red and blue separately I played several playthroughs spanning about 12-15 each with 30 hours of gameplay so about 400 to 450 hours on each separately

600+ hours on sonic adventure 2 on GCN thanks to chao garden plus 15 or so hours on the Steam version

300+ hours of Disgaea hour of darkness on ps2 + 120 hours on the PC version

Final fantasy VII across two playthroughs on ps1 accounting up to 120 or so hours plus 70+ hours on the PC version

Same thing with FFIX via ps1 and Pc

FFIV I played a total of 10 times across snes, gba, ps1, psp, and ds versions so about close to 300 hours

FFVI I played 10 times across SNES, GBA and PS1 for 300 or so hours

Same thing with Chrono trigger but across snes and ps1 versions

Star Ocean till the end of time on ps2 for 120 hours

Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam for 160 hours

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

On a single save file I had over 500 hours. I'd say total I have around 1200-1300 hours logged in.

I'm not sure which one between FFVII and Xenoblade Chronicles.

Because it's at least 300 hours each.

Has to be Call of Duty 4 for me; Steam has it tracked at 1202 hours, and I also played it for a couple years on Xbox 360. Those were the first few years it was out, so I would conservatively guess another 300-400 hours at least.

Nothing else even comes close, next in line is probably Skyrim which has 325 on steam, 70+ on Switch and probably 150-200 on X360.

Over 200 hours into Skyrim.

Over 100 into FVII, FFX, Oblivion. Breath of the Wild is probably close too.

Reading the other posts in this thread, I feel inadequate.
