What is this obsession with poop these days?

so I just got back from a big Christmas shopping spree and nearly everything was about poop. Games , toys , stuffed doll poops, hats, clothes ... a lot things that poop, look like poop, or is about poop. It's pretty disturbing.

Why is poop a big deal all of a sudden?
