Honestly if might actually be Freedom Planet (unless you classify it as an action platformer)

It does most of what Sonic does, but adds in a great combat system. I had a ton of fun with all 3 characters and am super hyped for Freedom Planet 2.

The randomly-generated stages just makes it feel fresh every playthrough.

This is crazy I just looked when I bought the game on steam but I've been playing this game for 7 years. It must be why I dominate the daily all the time.
