So, every Kojima game (excluding MGS V cover) has a Hideo Kojima Game put on the box and on the game intro and credits, what other directors can pull this and don't be frowned upon?

Is this a ego thing? I mean, some people consume movies based on the director (Tarantino, Scorcese, etc)

Also since someone already said yoko taro ill say Hideki Kamiya.
That said, it's kind of sad that the likelihood of an American name being like this is quite low in the AAA scene since most American games are developed more as a committe than a singular vision

Doesn't this apply to movies? I mean, they are made by hundreds of people and yet you see people choosing a movie over the other based solely on the director. I'm just curious.
Hironobu Sakaguchi maybe could... if he even had any interest in making games anymore.

Sid Meier is basically the only one who's been able to pull it off. American McGee tried but we all know how that ended up.
I'm personally of the belief that auteurs shouldn't be claiming sole credit for games the way Kojima does, though. It's incredibly reductive and honestly kind of a dickhead thing to do to your team.

Well yes and no;
There are plenty of names in movies that aren't in the public awareness because no matter how good of a gaffer you are, people can't see the effect so they don't usually care. In both games and movies, however, the director, writer, and producer are in a much higher creative position so their effects both good and bad are more visible to the end user.

It can't just be famous game devs, I think it's game devs who kinda have their own signature style of games that aren't really like anything else. So not Cory Barlog or Neil Druckmann. The "auteurs" if you will.
Suda51, Yoko Taro, Miyazaki and Fumito Ueda are the ones I can think of. Maybe Kamiya and Sakurai.

Both already happened (for the US/EU releases, not in Japan). Sakaguchi's other games mostly just used "From the father of Final Fantasy" in their western advertising.
