So I finished Uncharted Lost Legacy a few nights ago and I'm looking for my next game to clear out of my backlog. My options:

Persona 5
Dragon Quest XI
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Shadow of the Tomb Raider

I'm leaning Persona 5 because I've already made a little bit of progress in that one (I'm just past the first palace). I'm also hesitant to start Shadow of the Tomb Raider since it's so similar to Uncharted Lost Legacy.

Dragon Quest! Tomb is great too, fully enjoyed it. Have yet to play Odyssey or Origins...Persona 5 I never had any interest in.

Definitely not Persona 5 because there's going to be a better version later on PS4. If you have a Switch don't play Dragon Quest XI either, because there's going to be a better version of that, too. If you don't have a Switch/are not planning to buy one, play DQXI.

Odyssey is great. If you're a one-game-at-a-time person I'd go with that, if you can juggle a couple games I'd go with that and Dragon Quest.

Can't really go wrong with P5 or DQXI (if you have the music mod). I liked DQXI more.

This is the time for AC: Odyssey

Persona 5 and DQXI are both getting better versions in the coming year. Odyssey is done afaik and it's an awesome game.

Yeah I do have a Switch and realize that there are better versions of both P5 and DQXI coming but I'm not sure if I'll get either of them.

I'm assuming that my save for P5 won't transfer over to P5 Royal? Also how good is DQXI going on the Switch going to be? I haven't been paying a ton of attention to the pre-release coverage for it so does it look good?

Personally, out of that list I would play Shadow first because it's a shorter, story driven game you can beat faster and then move onto Odyssey which will take up way more of your time.

I would wait for the Definitive Edition on Switch for DQ and Royal for P5 before playing either.

I always think with backlogs the best way to tackle it is to play the smaller games first and clear them off the list, but in your case having just finished The Lost Legacy going straight into Rise of the Shadow of the Dawn of the Tomb Raider probably isn't the best idea.

According to How Long To Beat for a standard completion you're looking at:

ACO - 40 hours
DQXI - 56 hours
P5 - 96 hours

On the assumption that you might not want another action game like ACO yet I'd say do DQXI then Tom Braider, and then decide which to tackle after that. Of course, you said you've already started Persona so I guess that depends on how far in you've got. Personally I think playing a single playthrough of a game for nearly 100 hours sounds awful, but to each their own.

Tomb Raider because it's really short compared to the other three games which can all be 100+ hours long.

Started Persona 5 back up last night. I barely remember anything from when I first started but Morgana told me to go to sleep at least 3 or 4 times and Yusuke won't help me unless Ann poses nude for him -- yikes
