Never played SS but I have much more interest in a possible rerelease of that then trying to go back and finish BotW.

It's gotta be Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess overall.

I liked TP more, so I'm going with SS. Still not a bad game, though.

It has a lot of things those old Zelda's have and many more they don't, you just disqualify them.

This is miraculously a game with
"No music"
"No dungeons"
"No story"
I never said anything about "no story", in fact I think it's one of the best aspects of BotW: the lack of guidance and no chatty sidekick. The lack of music also works to its advantage and was very cleverly implemented. The dungeon thing is absolutely true though. The game has dungeons but they're undeniably weak and repetitive. Shrines are boring looking and unimaginatively copy/pasted into the world instead of implemented. I like the puzzles themselves fine, but the context where they're placed is pretty bad. The game has almost no inside locations, no caves, no underwater exploration, no proper fishing mechanics, some very empty spaces that aren't utilized well at all (a large part of the west-side of the map). The side-quests are boring and bland. Oh and the boss-battles were bad.

You can love the game all you want, but to imply the game is better than all other 3D Zelda's and think everybody who thinks otherwise is wrong is...well...wrong.

Here's how I rate these games:

Ocarina of Time: Awesome
Majora's Mask: Awesome
Wind Waker: Awesome
Twilight Princess: Very good
Skyward Sword: Good
Breath of the Wild: Awesome

So Skyward Sword was my pick for merely being a good game. I think it does a lot right, but whenever I remember the game's padding and imperfect controls, I lose any desire to replay it.

For me it's Twillight Princess. When i played it the first time i got bored of it pretty quickly and just stopped my playthrough. But i never had any ill feelings about it. But after giving it another try i can definitely say it's my least favorite Zelda game by far.

One of the main positives fans of the game always put forward are the dungeons. Many think it has the best dungeons in the series, i don't agree. I didn't have a good time with most of them and thought they were nothing special. The only dungeon that i thought had a cool mechanic was the Arbiters Grounds dungeon, but only the last 20% of the dungeon when you obtain the spinner.

I'm definitely in the camp that Twilight Princess's dungeons are overrated. They're solid, but Twilight Princess made me wish for a shakeup in the Zelda series' dungeons since I thought they had become too formulaic. Also, Twilight Princess's dungeons deserve major criticism for how pathetic their bosses are (I think they're somehow even easier than Wind Waker's pushovers).

It's hard to decide between Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild, but I can say that the former at least didn't deter me away from the series completely.

When did I say or imply any of this?

I can't understand this criticism of weapon durability in BotW. It made you be strategic with the usage of weapons which added a cool feature to the game plus you're always finding more weapons than you can fit in your inventory. It's not like you're gonna have to suddenly fight Guardians with your bare knuckles.

Skyward Sword by far, and I would put Wind Waker (GC version) a good bit behind it. (I'd easily rank Wii U Wind Waker much much lower on "Worst" scale, I'd prob rank TP (GC/Wii) as 2nd worst nowadays, but I haven't played the Wii U version)

I like them all, but out of the 3D Zeldas I like Skyward Sword the least. Still, it is like a 7/10 game for me.

Botw's weapon durability was very annoying but still chose can't decide since I didn't played 3 of them.

Skyward Sword from me. It wasn't even bad, it was just the shitty opening that took way too long coupled with the movement controls.

Right here. You imply that BotW is so good that it should be exempt from the poll. Is that not what you meant?
No that's not what I meant. Quoting my last response to someone who put words in my mouth

Saying it shouldn't be on an option for the worst of the series isn't the same as saying it shouldn't be criticized. Not to mention, I wrote a criticism for it in this thread.

Same mindset as the person baffled people are selecting Ocarina of Time as the worse.

I'd probably play a Skyward Sword remaster with regular gamepad controls whereas I'd never touch BotW again because I hate nearly every single system in that game. Saying it shouldn't be a valid choice is ridiculous.

Twilight Princess. It's so obnoxiously railroaded. I don't care if Skyward Sword is obnoxious with the tutorials; at least it didn't trap me in boring, colorless towns multiple times with the instructions of "wander aimlessly, get all the bugs" to pad for time.

And yeah, I know Skyward Sword has The Imprisoned. At least that thing's an interesting action sequence, and not a fucking scavenger hunt that puts the entire game on hold until it's done.

I had a really hard time not slapping Ocarina or Majora in a non-trolly way, but I had to mark TP because it just did nothing for me whatsoever on the Wii version. I actually got the WiiU remaster specifically to play it with the controller and it felt better for the time I actually played it, but that won't change how goddamned empty and boring it feels (which is the same problem I have with Ocarina and Majora).

Also, as much as I would hate to have someone vote for it out of sheer mirth for the formula, I'm surprised Hyrule Warriors isn't up there. Sure it's not a "proper" Zelda game but it is 3D Zelda, nonetheless.

I love Majora's Mask. I'm fascinated by it's lore, the theories surrounding it, how creepy the game is. I adore everything about it except for the actual game, which i feel is a chore to play. My vote goes to Majora's.

Majora's Mask to me. It's too much a compilation of side quests and mini-games, the dungeons are weak and it's convoluted to play with its time mechanics and inventory system. It's also a unique game with a ton of creative aspects but I didn't enjoy playing it always so it gets my vote for the weakest.

Skyward Sword is the best.

I'm going to get flack for this but, for me, it's WindWaker.

I played the GC version a couple of years ago after years of praise, and was really let down. The overworld is barren with 1 real town, and a lot of empty islands; and the dungeons are short in number, linear in structure and short in length (not to mention half of them are escort missions). It's pretty to look at and I like the fighting system a lot, but there's nothing really else to it. It's an empty game.

Skyward Sword with Wind Waker second worst. I love Twilight Princess because of the dungeons so definitely not that, though I know a good amount of Era hates it.

All those games are great. Still, there are differences as in which ones I enjoyed the most.

I love Majora's Mask. I'm fascinated by it's lore, the theories surrounding it, how creepy the game is. I adore everything about it except for the actual game, which i feel is a chore to play. My vote goes to Majora's.

I feel similarly. I think the concept is really interesting and so is the atmosphere. But in the end it is the least fun to play of all the 3D Zeldas.

I voted Twilight Princess. It had some interesting ideas (twilight realm with the wolf transformation) that didn't really go anywhere and just sort of faded in the second half of the game.

I can see why the segmented world of emphasis on motion controls make Skyward Sword "win" the poll. Personally, I just have more things I like about that game (characters, art style, memorable dungeons and bosses) than I do for Twilight Princess.

Voted Twilight Princess but in my heart it's Skyward Sword.

I think the combat mechanics vs its utilization is busted in Twilight Princess. I think the story opens weak, has strong ideas but then completely wastes its potential by reintroducing Ganondorf and losing all the plot's logic in the process. I thought the overworld was extremely underdesigned and I think even the music is somewhat dull a lot of the time. It did feel tonally right compared to a lot of recent entries from the DS games, to Skyward Sword and even Breath of the Wild or its new sequel. (way too anime in the way it presents goofy or scary elements; lacks a sense inspired of mythos and shintoism)

Skyward Sword has annoying Wii-era trends like explaining EVERYTHING to you, but it had a super fresh take on a Zelda story in presentation and its development. It felt big and epic, I liked the motion controls and the adventure felt consistent to me but many of its parts were simultaneously dull. It's a somewhat blander Zelda title in some ways but also pretty exciting in others. I was in a bliss when I played it and nothing took me out of it at any point, contrary to Twilight Princess which I played when I was 12 and even then I could tell something was just missing, and it went from being my most hyped game ever to being somewhat disappointing and shallow by its ending.

Majora's Mask is the only one I couldn't enjoy enough to replay in the lead up to BotW's release. Every single other 3D Zelda I had a blast with, but not that one. It's great (every Zelda game is great besides Those Ones) but I think it's the least replayable, at least IMO.

Lol.

Skyward Sword is my favourite and Wind Waker my least favourite.

I enjoy Zelda for it's dungeons/puzzles and story, and as SS is one giant over world with the best story... it's my jam.

Wind Waker has the best atmosphere and boasts amazing music, but I'm not fond of its dungeons (actually I disliked them) and overall structure.

Majora/BotW have few dungeons but I enjoyed the rewind mechanic and the latters exploration.

Twilight Princess kinda sits in the middle for me.

Ocarina is Ocarina, I'm too close to it to have an unbiased opinion. That game was my childhood.

Skyward Sword for me. I didn't dislike the game though, I just thought it dragged on a bit too long.

Definitely Skyward Sword, infuriating hand holding aside its the only Zelda game where I didn't give a shit about the world and didn't want to explore it (not that you could).

Never finished it.

Skyward Sword easily, the controls it's the least of its problems

Sky being nothing but a glorified select screen, forced backtrack, lack of enemy variety (if you think BotW is bad, SS is even or worse), linear Zelda at its highest.

I still like it because of the dungeons, story, NPCs (my man Groose), music

Wind Waker had a huge boring empty overworld where getting places took forever, and the dungeons are the weakest of the series minus BotW.
