KFC. Don't care for the breading.
Wendy's. The one that I can access has minimal AC and TVs tuned to only fox news.
Cici's Pizza. Not because of the food but because someone started shit by making snorting sounds behind my back. I calmly but firmly told them how I felt. Don't want to deal with them again.

EDIT: I forgot Chik Fil A. Screw that company.

Abrakebabra. I've mostly stopped eating in fast food outlets anyway but the last time I went into Abrakebabra there was a load of dead and dying Greenfly all over the counter.

Spain
This chain that exists in Madrid (Possibly other cities in Spain too) called Tierra Burrito, that is popular among rich kids:

MG_TIERRA_DESTACADO-WEB-1.jpg

It's a whitewashed version of something that remotely resembles Mexican food, the locales look like a whitewashed Starbucks and play softboi music, the guacamole has no taste or texture, neither do the burritos themselves...

It's the blandest experience ever. Went once with friends of mine, never again.

Probably Quiznos. I though I liked them, but every one that was near me closed down years ago. Last year I found one while on vacation and holy cow was that mediocre.

I shouldn't go to Burger King, but I go once a year and get disappointed 100% of the time. Went last week, had a great Whooper (honestly) but their service is so shitty, waited 5 minutes at the counter just for someone to show up and take my order... at first I thought they were understaffed, because it was an weekday afternoon in a small city, but then I saw that there were at least 6 people in there, talking to each other while I was waiting to get some icecream.

once I complained about their absolute shitty service in Brazil and I believe it resulted in all workers losing their jobs (it was a complete shitshow) but honestly I doubt the new ones are much better, seems like it is a problem with BK in general, maybe training sucks compared to other chains or they dont get much (any?) supervision on how they run things. This is a problem in all countries I've lived in, btw. McDonalds for example is always much cleaner and organized in general.

I've got a short list of places I won't touch,

Downtown Burger King location; they've just straight up not made my order twice, as in two separate occasions with completely different employees, so I had to sit there awkwardly for 15-20 minutes and then ask if it was gonna be ready anytime soon only for them to panic and start dumping chicken fries into a bag. Other locations have never had an issue like that. Let alone twice. Also the second time they were out of ice.

Blaze Pizza was the rudest service I've ever received, to the point I refuse to go there. There's only 1 location here.

Either of the local restaurants I've been a dishwasher at. I know how clean the dishes are. I get why people don't like to eat where they work.

Popeyes. I'm not gonna go into details. But nothing I had was good.

Honorable Mention: Qdoba, small portion sizes, food wasn't good, and overpriced to boot. Can't even give them another shot because they all closed around here except the partial-menu mini-location inside the casino and if I'm going to the casino I'm not fighting the parking garage for take out.

Now the big offender; The valley location for Atilanos. They're a regional (i think) mexican fast food chain. Only time I've ever got legit food poisoning. One of only two times I legitimately thought I was going to die. Gotta be honest, dying like I'm on the Oregon Trail isn't really on my death preferences short list.

I've stopped buying prepped meals and pastries from my local grocery after numerous incidents. I don't know what happened but it just took a nosedive since they changed owners. I bought a muffin which had shredded solid plastic chunks in it. Several times the meals turned out to be bad before their expiration date. They've done a pretty good job of scaring me off.

Chipotle and airport food. Got lucky that the food poisoning didn't impact me on my 2 hour flight and was kind enough to wait until right when I got home. 3 days of puking and shitting is not fun.

There was a Chinese restaurant where I used to live that got a 0/5 government food hygiene rating. So that probably.

McDonalds.

I went in once in my life, i was like, 13 i think. First ever hamburger i ate. Didn't like it and spent the rest of the day puking. Left a very enduring bad impression. To the point i've never tried a hamburger ever gain.

Braum's Ice Cream & Burger Restaurant

Food wasn't bad, but I got into my first car kerfuffle where I was to blame, so I have bad memories of the place. Probably never willingly going there again.

Pizza Hut.

Gave the one in my town a shot a decade or so back and got the worst food poisoning I think I've ever had. Fast forward a few years and thought hey, probably just an unlucky one-off, let's roll those dice again baby.

...no food poisoning, but it was the most disgusting pizza I had ever seen. They had covered it in some kind of "garlic butter" glaze type thing, but it was literally soaked. Like, between it and the grease, the dough was completely soaked through. It roughly had the consistency of a smoothie. I'm usually a "even shitty pizza is okay" kind of person, but I couldn't even attempt this thing. It was fucking gross.

Some diner in Long Island. Bland food that was somehow disgusting at the same time. I ordered chicken and they brought me some sort of boiled deli meat. My wife's food was gross. My mother-in-law's food was gross. All around shit experience. We joke about how bad it was now, but we'll never go back.

Two of the local diners in my hometown.

The first one alluded that my friend and his friend were gay, and then went on to make jokes about gay people.

The second one had coffee mugs at every seating as you sat down there was a mug there, apparently if you flip the mug over they fill it up. $1.95 for what tastes like maxwell house coffee.

Izzy's Pizza & Buffet. Didn't make me sick or anything, but their food was just nasty; the flavor of their mac and cheese literally haunted me for years. I avoid buffets in general now, tbh.
Individual Chinese restaurants unless they look absolutely impeccable with superb reputations. Chains (like Panda Express and PF Chang's) are fine, but all the locally owned restaurants in my area would consistently give me the shits and once actually made me throw up. Thank fuck I've never gotten full on food poisoning, but that was the last straw for me and I stopped getting Chinese from any local places since. Subsequently made me suspicious of all Chinese restaurants, too. Which is a damn shame cuz god I love me some mar far with pink sauce but the chains don't have that. 😔

Barburrito (UK Burrito chain). They were one of the first burrito places I went to and were fantastic. Over time as they've gotten bigger they've become really stingy with their fillings and charge for everything extra. Utter shite now. Like buying a supermarket wrap for £7.

Chango's is the best in Britain, change my mind.

Got Dominos for the first time in a long time last Sunday, was profoundly disappointed. I do not remember it being that bad, then again I am spoiled with better pizza places.

The worst ones are not the big chains, but the independent fast food restaurants presenting as a fast food chain.

T-Burger
Only time I went there as I walked up they were getting a delivery of cardboard burger boxes. They fell off the truck onto the wet road in front of the stroe and the delivery guy just picked them up, wiped them off and took them into the store. Anyway, those were not the boxes I'd be eating from so I ordered the burger and fries and they were cooked in what must have been dirty week old oil, you could taste everything in that oil that wasn't what you ordered. I really could not finish it and just walked out. T-Burger has now shut down. The T stood for Terrible.

I've never gotten food poisoning from a restaurant, but I refuse to step foot inside a local sports bar that I used to work at when I was 16/17.
On my last day there, the manager told me to spray air freshener on a couple that was enjoying their meal. She told me I could spray them or lose my job, so I quit. I know the place is still under the same management, so I refuse to give them any business.

A&W.

Not because they suck - quite the contrary - but because they've all disappeared from my area. :(

Unless I'm starving to death, and there is absolutely nothing else to eat, I'll never eat KFC or Burger King again. Disgusting food all around.

There's a chain in my area called "Fast Eddies"

no-one should ever eat there, it's like a drive-through styled burger place that hasn't updated it's food since the 80s, but has new menu items constantly.

Cici's Pizza. Went there in college and there was an entire layer of plastic under the cheese on a slice I bit into.
