Avengers: Infinity War is the next biggest ultra-hyped movie for nerds that will be filled with lots of fanservice, callbacks, and more superheroes on screen than any other franchise released thus far: which means there must already be a legion of people ready to hate the fucking shit out of it.

I’m not calling out anyone specifically here, but just like with TLJ, I won’t blink an eye over the upcoming dozens upon dozens of threads (here and elsewhere) that are pre-written to rant about every single aspect of the film.

What kind of discussions do you expect? Obviously there will be the salty DC crowd, the “You didn’t represent X minority enough/you represented them too much” folks, Moviebob using it as an allergory to rant about Republicans (or he’ll just do that anyway for the first half of his video while “humorously” segueing to the actual discussion), and a 50 page analysis over the death of the superhero genre and the encroaching dystopia from Disney’s continously growing mountains of money.

And of course the daily outrage and discussion over the ten seconds of the film where Peter Parker dabs or something.

So did you just make a thread to basically jab at people who didn't like Last Jedi, regardless of whether or not their reasoning was sound?

On topic - of course not everyone is going to like the movie. Probably complaints about pacing or something since this movie apparently has a lot going on.

TOO MANY QUIPS! NO STAKES!

WORST OF ALL, IT LOOKS LIKE A GODDAMN TV SHOW
Or this, because if there aren't a bunch of Joss Whedon-y shock value deaths people think there are no stakes in an MCU movie.

This is like someone making a reaction thread to an E3 announcement, before the announcement.

I trust the mods to not humor every "I SAW INFINITY WAR AND IT WAS BAD/UNIMPRESSIVE/CONFUSING. IS MARVEL DOOMED?!" thread that will inevitably rise out of a movie this big.

Between this and yesterday’s thread, you are investing way too much in a damn movie. I mean...

I won’t blink an eye over the upcoming dozens upon dozens of threads (here and elsewhere) that are pre-written to rant about every single aspect of the film.
It affects you enough to make a pre emptive thread complaining about things that haven’t happened yet.

I was nervous about it...could it deliver even close to the hype level it reached?

Just got back from it.....fuck yeah it does! People like and dislike what they like/dislike...that's up to them. If they want to sit and hate a movie before they see it, well, that's their prerogative. Me, I'd rather just go in hoping for a good movie and leaving satisfied or a bit disappointed. Better than tying myself in weird little knots to justify hating something I haven't seen.
