Astro Bot is the correct answer. He is the most "PlayStation" character ever.

He has the matching color scheme, has an in-game PSVR headset he wears, and little controller symbols are even special effects in his world.

Jin isn't even the most popular Tekken character. Hell, he's not even the best Mishima (he's the worst).

Also Crash would be more of the mascot of that era rather than Spyro.
Can you prove Jin isn't the most popular? & We don't have to pick and choose between Crash and Spyro. They're both Playstation mascots

PlayStation is firmly a world-wide operation, so it's not Toro. And it's not anyone else. The only answer is no one.

The Cross, Circle, Square, and Triangle icons are a registered trademark from Sony. Those icons represent PlayStation.

It varies depending on who you ask and what their tastes are. Some might say Kratos, Some might say Drake, some could also reach back and choose Crash, Sackboy, some might pick a third party character that they feel associates with Sony's history the most.

It's one of those things that's tough to pin down with Sony because parts of their audience latched onto different franchises as most of their studios make very different games, and there are 3rd party games that are a huge part of Sony's legacy like Final Fantasy 7 or Tomb Raider.

with Microsoft the majority of their fans were drawn to Master Chief very early, for Nintendo it's Mario or in some cases the argument could be made for Pikachu.

It was Crash and Spyro on PS1 and to a lesser extent Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank on PS2. But PlayStation/Sony don't need a mascot.

Kratos is more of a mascot than Drake, but he's still not 'The Sony Mascot'. They don't have a Mario / Master Chief singular character leading the way.

Mascots should stay at the grade school lunch table in the 90s. We've been over this shit since Crash came out. After that, many tried and died.
