Why do conservatives hate WAP so much?

Usually I'm in tune to the latest conservative outrage, but this one just perplexes me. It's bog standard trap music. How is it the contents any different from say, My Neck My Back? I've been hearing non stop bitching about it for the past year, like it's the great moral dilemma of our time.

Because they love it so much and deeply want to fuck Cardi B and are mad they can't and furthermore don't have any charm or skills or good qualities that would make any of the other black people want to fuck them.

So they lash out in hatred.

They consider it excessively vulgar in a way that is easy to target, it came from a big name in modern music that most people will recognize, and they love to emphasize "speech for me, not for thee".

Also, the racism / misogyny factor is heavily in play here.

They get to talk bad about women and minorities and also at the same time watch a racy video again and again

“That black woman is enjoying sex!!!

Edit: Also, they hate that it’s a huge hit. There’s a lot of agonizing in their minds over the thought that white people will one day be a minority, and WAP doing gangbusters is like a siren going off to them.

The point is to get people to talk about it and watch your show.

Conservatives are master salespeople.

You need to pick low hanging fruit (everyone is going to have an opinion on WAP no matter how dumb you are) to get a bigger audience.

The real question is why no one talks about healthcare or making higher education more affordable.

They'll say it's because it's "Vulgar", but they also hated Beyonce's Formation. Conservatives hate to see black women empower themselves in any way.

Because if enough conservative women are led to believe that sex can actually be satisfying, it will cause problems for conservative men who aren't up to the task.

If you are talking about conservative politicians or talking heads, they don't actually care about it at all. They are just using it as a talking point to stir up their base. There aren't any real negatives with the current administration, no matter how hard they try to incite things, so they are just reverting to the age old culture wars. "Don't vote for liberals/blacks/gays/etc. they are amoral and are destroying society"

Since My Neck My Back came out, Republicans have become less a party about policies, and more a party about "fuck those guys over there." There was always moral panic as an important part of that party, but right now Joe Biden's policies are popular, even with many Republicans. Obamacare is popular! They have literally no substance to run on and they can't just sit back and attack the Democrats because people like what they are doing, so the only thing left is culture war.

Hence, they spent the last month on WAP, a song that came out last year, and Dr. Suess, a guy that died decades ago. Not like anything else important is happening right now.

They don't like those other songs either, but the way music is promoted now means that WAP is showing up in their timelines. Plus, you know, she's a woman.

vulgar sex songs sure have come a long way since the white guy sex songs like “Whole Lotta Love”, “Honkey Tonk Woman”, “Brown Sugar”, “Whole Lotta Rosie”, “Girls Got Rhythm” etc

They can use the excuse that it's vulgar and obscene to cover their misogyny and racism. This isn't the 2 Live Crew era anymore, there have been decades of songs with content like WAP. But rarely this popular and from women. So they can cash in on the "moral outrage" to fuel their grift, when they're really angry because of WHO is performing, not what they're saying.

Black women with agency to capitalize on their own sexuality without centering and upholding white men is the perfect punching bag for the right

Racism and misogyny, but also that it's (still sort of) in the zeitgeist. The perpetual culture war is always desperately grasping for relevance. "My Neck, My Back" was almost twenty years ago, so they don't think anyone will care if they tilt at that particular windmill. Might as well be 1989's "The Fuck Shop".

It just seems particularly impotent from the outside, because anyone who isn't a racist shithead will look at the "WAP" video and think that it is, at worst, pretty fun and/or pretty sexy.

I was joking with some friends in the early-‘90s about the possible endgame of sex songs and we decided that the last word in blunt sex lyrics would be a song titled, simply, I Wanna Fuck You. That song happened for real in 2006.

Not the "Trump can grab my pussy too" crowd being offended by WAP.

They don't hate it. But elderly white people won't understand it, it ticks boxes for racists and sexists, so they can weaponize it.

I doubt the media heads actually do, but they know their captive audience of permanently outraged racist/sexist/repressed boomers would absolutely hate it. It’s easy money.

They have always had different culture wars they fight no matter the era. Satanic Panic in the 60s, 70s, and 80s immediately comes to my mind as a pre-cursor to this.

If it was a white male singing it there would be no issue.
The only sex allowed for conservatives is occasionally with their wives and most of the time with sex workers

I feel it's insecurity as well. These girls in the song know what they fucking want to get that pussy wet. Confident women scare the shit out of men (and sometimes even other women).
They're not that mad about or they wouldn't constantly show the performance or music video over and over while ranting about it.
Conservatives are feeling fragile right now, and I'm fucking loving it.

Conservatives in general are pretty puritanical also so there's your answer. Americans in general are way more puritanical than europeans. Boobs seen on TV or film? Rated R in cinemas or TV MA for tv series, where you can show boobs in G or PG movies here.

I dislike the song and find it annoying as hell but the video is nice to look at.. at least.

They don't hate it, but they want their followers to hate it, because making people hateful and fearful of sexuality has been a weapon in the arsenal of conservatives of all stripes for centuries.

If you demonize sexuality, you can convince people that their natural thoughts and feelings about sex are some kind of deviancy or sin. And then you can sell them "the cure", in the form or religious/political ideology that stifles and represses sex in public, while allowing sexual abusers to run rampant in private.

And you can also convince them that their sexual thoughts were inspired by some kind of "evil other", so as to create division and fear. Think about how much of the conservative rhetoric about the LGBT+ community or minorities or liberated woman is about painting them as hypersexual, and thus "evil".
