Why does the Gaming Industry/Gaming journalistic Industry still give attention to Boogie (and the likes)?

So watching E3 yesterday, Boogie appeared two times at Geoffs Youtube E3 show (again) playing Crash Racing.
Then later with Kotakus Stephen Totilo have another small chat.

People are asking why gamers get more radicalized.

We have people like "ching chang chong" Dr Disrespect getting trending gamer awards. "Took out of context Notch"" podcast hosts. "Both Sides Boogie" appearing over and over again at such events, giving them outreach.

Why is no one calling them out on that? It seems instead of calling those people out, the "industry" even wants to hang with them and give them a plattform.

Work
Because they have millions of followers between multiple different platforms and video games are an industry about making money.

Because not everyone includes politics in the reasons why they should appreciate someone else or hang out with them.

Theyre still "Influencers". That's the word. Some kind of new type of celebrities.

They're relevant and want attention because no one of gaming press has been ever relevant. Even Kenny Omega which is a somewhat popular name in the wrestling community but nearly a nobody for WWE fans get some hype, something that not all of the guys from IGN, Polygon and so on combined would ever get.

As someone who runs a smaller gaming orientated site, this is easy. While you may think these personalities are bad or toxic, there's a vast majority who still eat up everything that they do and say. Which means clicks and traffic and it brings people to whoever reports on/interviews these people.

Fanbase rules all, like it or not.

Because he has multiple millions of people following him and those people will follow him on any show ?
You can have trash takes and still have a following, Boogie, Ninja, P'D'P and DR Disrespect have huge swat of people follwing them.

Boogie maybe a centrist prick with no integrity, but he has personally done nothing "bad". He will defend garbage people from the sidelines, but has yet to be caught with something substantial himself

They have audience it's really that simple. I don't some people but that doesn't mean they shouldn't go on things.

I don't know who "and the likes" are.

But as far as Boogie goes, he really hasn't done anything wrong. He's just failed to admonish others that people here largely hate. Era largely hates centrists, but I don't think that makes him bad per se.

Edit: beaten. This.

Because the people in those industries do not care about the things you care about.

Or if they do, less than they care about the profits/views they can get.

Because a large population of gamers are trash that think civil rights and representation are "politics" and lots of corporations care more about money than people.

This thread is closed due to our blanket E3 rules:

No reaction threads – To prevent clutter we will lock all reaction threads during E3. A reaction thread is a topic about a hot take or some other personal reaction to anything that did or did not happen during E3. Examples include "Why wasn't the Switch 2 announced?", "Did Ubisoft just win E3?" and "I can't believe the leaks were real". These sort of topics can be discussed in news threads and conference threads.
This can be discussed in the stream thread for now. However, this specific discussion is interesting, please feel free to remake it next week. Thanks.
