I think they have always been popular it's just not many people randomly bring it up. Maybe it's where i live but as far as i can remember it's always been a jack packed place no whatter what day and time (except sunday) You can't go there during lunch here unless you want to wait at least 30-40 minutes.

And it's popular because they have good fresh food with excellent service.

lol this is so far off base jesus christ
I often wonder this myself. We've had chick fill a around here forever, and no one I know was eating there. Now if you go to any location its super busy all the time. My unfounded theory was the homophobia paid off for them in a big way. Right wingers rallied around it and spread the gospel of their delicious sandwiches.
In my experience(In the heart of the South) it was more like curiosity to see what the big deal was with CFA,
Because that whole situation was going on around the time they started expanding aggressively.

Basically "Why is this place even worth this publicly?"
Had it for the first time soon after when my work ordered breakfast from them, and I have sworn by their chicken biscuits ever since.
Before that the most noteworthy thing about them was their silly cow advertisements.
Also their prices scared me off from even giving them a shot before that, why spend that much when I can get a lot more of the tried and true McDonald's sausage biscuits I had loved since childhood?....
Boy was I wrong.

Draw you in with curiosity and lock you in with their quality food, service, operation, etc.

Maybe in more liberal states but in the south at least they are always packed.

Chick-fil-As are packed everywhere. I went to the only one in LA that I know of in West Hollywood (aka the Gay Mecca), and it was overflowing with people. I guess hungry patrons don't much care if you donated millions to Prop 8 as long as your chicken tastes good.

It does taste good though. That CFA sauce is alpha.

I was fully sold on Chik Fil A when I bought a spicy chicken biscuit in February. I had a rough day, and when I opened the wrapping, I saw that the biscuit was shaped like a heart.

Believe it or not, the day after Trump won, the biscuit was shaped like a heart again. I was so touched because I had been terrified about the election, I took a picture of it.

Chick-fil-a is amazing but way more popular on the east coast. My college town on the east coast had 4 of them, and the major urban area I live in now on the west coast has 1. They are packed because they are probably becoming more popular as you get out west. They make really good fucking chicken with their pressure fryers.

I always felt it was kind of "premium" fast food. They cost like it, they behave like it and they taste like it. And everyone loves to feel premium.

I've been loving CFA sandwiches for over 25 years. Combine them with the perfectly salted waffle fries and you have a winner.

All of their food is glorious, breakfast menu kicks ass too, their service is top notch. Lemonade is GOD like, and they always give me a treat for my Shibas when I bring them along :)

How do liberal customers feel when they financially support this restaurant chain that funds homophobic endeavours?

I've been around since they were but a few mall outposts. I got to give it to them they had a winning recipe and ran with it. It barely even needed marketing

Quite literally the best chicken nuggets in the business, and the best waffle fries to accompany them. The lemonade is good, too. Chick-Fil-A is my favorite fast food joint.

Personally, when I'm feeling like a fast food chicken sandwich, I go to Wendy's. Their spicy chicken is damn good.

There have been chick fil around me for a long time, but within the past few years it's popularity has risen. The other day they opened one down the street from me and people were in tents in weather -10f just for the grand opening, I mean there multiple in my city too.

It doesn't matter what time of day it the drive-thru is ALWAYS packed, and they use 2 of em. What is it that has made them so popular?

Spicy chicken sandwiches and waffle fries are like crack. Plus they always rate high in customer satisfication

Are you saying you thought the biscuit was heart shaped as some sort of consolation because of Trump's election? That's hysterical.

Republicans/conservatives/etc rallied behind the company during the controversy. I mean, Huckabee even called August 1 chuck-fil-a appreciation day.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/chick-fil-a-rallying-point-for-conservative-pols/

So how is this far off base? It may not be the only reason, but it certainly contributed to it.

it was extremely popular before the controversy. Reading the comments on here is hilarious, because I'm sure 99% of the anti-CFAers posting here probably live in an area with no CFA around.

Yes, they are a religious company, but you would never know that going into their restaurants and eating. Yes, they have done some bad things due to their faith, but they also embrace the good parts, and it shows in their restaurants. I guarantee you could walk into any CFA tomorrow and be greeted with a smile, a clean restaurant, consistently quality food, and be told it is their pleasure at the end of the transaction. I know gay people who eat there. I've seen (what I assume to be) gay teens working there.

We laughed when Sarah Palin tried to make it some conservative bastion, but you guys feed into it and start writing in your Conservative Conspiracies notebook.

Yeah when you go to Chick-fil-a, you are directly funding anti-lgbt hate groups
https://thinkprogress.org/chick-fil-a-still-anti-gay-970f079bf85/
They use your money to fund those groups. If you feel any tiny amount of joy or happiness from knowing that part of your humblebundle purchase is going towards a nice charity or whatever, you should feel an equal amount of guilt and sadness that your money is going directly to make lives worse and more difficult.

Because it's tasty as fuck and miles ahead of other fast food. The operators and the employees seem to actually care. I've eaten CFA at least 4 or 5 times a month for over a decade and have never had a bad experience at one. Ever.

It's popular because it's good fast food, with good service, and while the company has made some bad anti-LGBT stands, they've also done some good charitable stuff. Unlike your average Trump supporter, they actually are Christians, they just have some stands I strongly disagree with.

They do enough good in other areas that I don't boycott them, even if they're one of my last choices.

Chick-Fil-A tastes amazing, the waffle fries are great, the customer service is outstanding and they have pretty good healthy choices for kids meals. They're one of the better fast food alternatives around here.

Their religious stances are unfortunate though and I totally understand why people avoid them for those reasons.

It's not recently though. I've had a chick fil a in my area always nearby since I moved to the US 14 years ago and they have been packed always. People love it.

No. They are packed here in Washington too. Honestly they backed off some on the homophobia stuff and they also do good stuff too. They treat their employees well and help with college funds and such. So they're not totally evil.

No idea. I've always found them terribly overhyped, imo. Maybe I just have too many quality chicken options in my area, but even before the homophobia became public I simply never had any inclinations to eat there.

I'll just assume you drive a car powered by your own sense of self worth, because there's no way in hell you'd be buying gasoline to power it given what all of those companies are guilty of. But to answer your question, sated.

I always love CFA threads. The salt is almost as delicious as the CFA food.

To answer the OP's question, CFA has always been popular. Always. In fact, CFA is so successful that they take Sundays off and still earn more than the competition.

The reasons are simple; Quality food and excellent service. Best customer service in the industry, and it's not even close.

At least when I go into a McDonald's and use their kiosk, I'm dealing with a cold, non-feeling machine, similar to the actual company that is running it.

compared to the workers at a chic-fil-a, a facade of a similar company that went the extra step of being "nice" when behind the scenes it was anything but.
Dave, that's stupidly cynical and you know it. Cmon son.

I used to sell phones to three Chick-fil-A store operators and every one of those dudes practiced what they preached. One owner would great people at the door during lunch when lines were wrapped around the corner and would run food. Another would man the drive thru. One would man the registers, get drinks, check on guests etc without prompt. They don't ask the employees to do things that they wouldn't do and from my understanding that's how all of the locations and operators work. They seem to have good store leadership and the employees seem to enjoy being there because their manager isn't some asshole who sits in the back and tells people what to do. They seem to genuinely care about people. You read stories about them feeding families down on their luck as well. Hell, a few weeks ago they came into the ATL airport and were feeding people from the power outage. They didn't have to do that. I'm sure some people would say they did that just for the publicity but that's not how Chick-fil-A works and they don't need the publicity. Everybody loves them anyway. Look at this thread.

Chick-fil-A is also hella active in communities all over. They sponsor all kinda of shit around here.

I can't tell you how many times I've worked in restaurants or gone to restaurants that were understaffed. I've NEVER seen that at a Chick-fil-A. Compare that to McDonald's or any whee else on a Friday night of a lunch hour. Chick-fil-A seems to genuinely give a shit about their employees and their customers while most fast food places don't seem to care about either group of people.

I once requested that a Big Mac be cut in half, and was told "We don't do that".

I would have been mad but I thought the lady being so blunt and not giving any fucks was kinda funny. Like, you and I both know you have knives in your kitchen....and people capable of cutting a sandwich in half......and yet you're still going to try and bullshit me because you just don't feel like taking a special request? Gotta laugh at that.
They don't really need knives for anything though. I worked at McDonalds and maybe the only time I saw a knife was someone opening a bag and I might be misremembering.
