People in this thread are wrong.

Club soda has no caffeine or sugar, and has the same effect.

What's the reason? No idea. But I suspect that the gas/fizz has some sort of effect on "cleaning" stuff stuck to your entrails, a sort of foaming agent if you will.

Isn't it the same premise of seltzer water?

7up and ginger ale was what Mom gave us when we were sick growing up. Funny thing is I associate them with illness, never drink them otherwise

Sprite, 7up and Schwepps calm bad stomach aches, and nausea. It don't know why or how. They just do.

When you're not feeling well your body is working overtime to get you better.

Soda has a whole heap of stuff your body needs in extreme doses.

It goes from a 1-2=-1 equation to a 2-2=0 equation.

The only time I drink actual soda anymore is when I'm sick, then 7up tastes great. Otherwise I just stick to carbonated water now.
