Potential Spoilers if you pick some date reference from Endgame

If there is any franchise of movies that deserves a day of it’s own is the MCU, many other nerd cultures get their day of celebration IF they want to, so why not? If you really don’t like the idea to the point of anger, just don’t participate, do not watch the movies or buy any Merch, lead a normal life and enjoy the movies your own way as you did previously, but for us nerdier folks allow us to have some fun as long as we aren’t harming people. No need to Hulk out here.

After 22 Successful films, some better than others but overall very well done, it’s recognition is well deserved. Ten years now is quite some time also, plus it will last another 10yrs minimum and be remembered for many years to come.

So what would the ideal date be for an MCU day? Must be something that is reoccurring each year, not the actual year. Do you pick the date of Release of Iron Man 1, a Significant date from one of the Movies like something fro Endgame? The date of the last film of the 1st 10yrs? Kevin Fieges bday? Stan Lees bday?

May 4th is a pun on a line from Star Wars, Alien day is taken from lv-426, others just celebrate the date of creation of the franchise.

Hell even Stoners have 420

Yes, if Star Wars has a day the MCU should definitely have a day
It’s this generation’s Star Wars and just as culturally relevant, no matter how much old curmudgeons moan and groan about it

Stan Lee's birthday sounds good to me.

You could also do Feb 26. Iron is Fe element #26.

Give me another manufactured holiday for discounts, I'm all for sales.

The problem with these pseudo-holidays is that nothing ever actually seems to happen on them. There's no traditions surrounding them. At best it's just a dumb excuse for social media spamming and trying to sell licensed merchandise.

Surely there was a newspaper or something that revealed the day of the snap. I remember a scene with a lot of missing person posters. Those might have had a date.

last May the 4th we went to a Star Wars themed silent Disco at the museum of contemporary art and there was stuff all around town we missed like outdoor screenings and (more) costume contests

Considering we have holidays celebrating mass murderers and slavers, having a day to celebrate culturally loved corporate owned intellectual properties is pretty benign

A day for anyone that wants to dress like Marvel super heroes, sing the Spider-Man theme song, talk like Thor or Stan Lee while playing games and watching marvel tv shows/movies while promoting local comic book shops seems like a sweet idea. No one would be forced to participate

I don't think Star Wars gets a day due solely to its merit as a popular film series, but also because May the 4th is such a fun pun. Like with Pi day: it's a reference everyone gets.

You'd need something that's so strongly connected to the date in a well-known manner that it works on its own. Stan Lee's birthday is fun and I fully expect to see Reddit posts on that day, but nobody's going to remember it.

Great points.

Stan the man's birthday is also too close to Christmas and New Years.

If you're going to make up a new holiday, make it during the spring/summer
