Have there been any country-by-country figures available for Incredibles 2 yet? I know it's going to be spread out over the next 3 months, and we're not going to get a thorough international picture for a while yet, but I'd be intrigued to see roughly how it's getting on.

I keep getting thrown for a loop by staggered CGI releases- I remember people being underwhelmed by international grosses for the likes of Finding Dory, Zootopia and Coco, and then looking back in a few months and finding that they've made a worldwide billion (or $800m, in Coco's case).
It's doing great in Argentina, despite having to compete with the World Cup for attention. It has already sold over 1M tickets, and it's the Pixar movie that has hit that number the fastest as it beat Monsters University by one day. Animated movies tend to have really long legs in the region, no Despicable Me/Minions/Ice Age in the horizon, and the winter break is fast approaching, so this bodes well for it to join the exclusive 3M club and maybe even becoming the top Pixar film of all time (Monsters University at 3.3M).
Doing well here in Uruguay too, but in a much (much) smaller scale.

Based on Tomb Raider's worldwide was it still considered a bomb?

Curious if it will be put on the shelf for another reboot for whatever comes after Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Man, black panther is gonna just run of steam huh?

Seems a silly thing to debate over since its very likely that all the MCU movies will get theatrical re-releases before Avengers 4, which will easily bump Avengers Infinity War into whatever next tier it can get to and BP to over $700m. There could even be a third bump from any sort of Oscars buzz in late 2018 that could lead to some rescreenings in Dec.

Hell before Thor Ragnorak they had a number of theaters have a 3 week period where they reshowed most of the MCU (and also some DC movies too lol), it was kind of surprising they DIDN'T do that for infinity war, they only did the weird 32 hour marathon thing at a few theaters.

It probably made very close to it's $94M Budget but not including the marketing cost. I wouldn't say it was an International bomb that's for sure.

I wonder what Vikander thinks about it. I'm sure she had plenty of projects to pick from.
I'm sure she's well-aware that the movie is not that great but her interview with Simon Mayo made it sound like she has a high opinion of the character and would really like to play her again. Of course, she was promoting the film, but she seemed genuine.

It would be nice if this could follow the Wolverine pattern. Jackman clearly always believed in the potential of a solo Wolverine film but it took a while to get a good one made. Hopefully Vikander will get another chance, she was really good even if the movie itself is profoundly unremarkable.

Fallen Kingdom IMAX shows get an extended sneak peak at MI: Fallout.

Some of the setpieces were filmed with IMAX's digital camera and 3d rig.

Much better than the number last night, and I think it's unlikely it dips below $130M for the weekend now.

I realize it could do much worse, but honestly, these numbers aren't great.

Hopefully the box office plus poor reviews helps Universal consider an alternate approach to JW3. It needs some seasoned writers to execute the ideas, and it needs to drop the mindless action movie tropes.

Oh wow I didn't know FK's tomatometer had fallen even more. Last I checked was yesterday when it was hovering between 54-55. Now 51.

My daily anecdotal: I asked folks how hyped they were for Jurassic World 2 when handing them their tickets throughout my shift on Wednesday and I'd say about a third seemed particularly enthusiastic.

QuintonScore can confirm BOM's predictions.

So JW2 is likely gonna be the next Deadpool 2, sequel does decent numbers but people will say it's a bomba.

It did over 80% of Jurrasic World's previews. That's well above expectations and will likely lead to a 150+ weekend.

I think WOM will be better than the last one too, so I doubt much changes.

The Jurrasic series is Summer popcorn fun, I can't see them switching that up.

Small correction on this, two scenes were filmed digitally and will still be opened up to 1.90:1 (full screen for IMAX digital) for two scenes. They were originally gonna use the IMAX 3D rig but changed plans mid-production due to technical issues.

The atmosphere of the aviary is cool and it's 90 minutes

Those are the pros
I hated JP3 until I saw Fallen Kingdom.

Now I can appreciate that it is mostly non offensive, low tier entertainment with little ambition. It never pretends to be something it isn't, and has a competent structure. It's not good - especially as Jurassic - but it really isn't a hot mess.

Damn, fallen kingdom that bad?

I don't think any of the JP sequels are good, but I still prefer JP3s cheap 90 minute b movie vibes to whatever giant mishappen thing the Lost World asks us to accept(outside the trailer scene of course)

I've never seen people more ready to leave a theatre than with Fallen Kingdom last night.

About 20-25% of the theatre was already standing and beginning to walk out a good 30 seconds before the credits hit, and everyone else was up and walking the moment they did. Everyone was so drained it was fucking palpable. Keep in mind, this was a 7pm showing. It's not like it was 2am when it ended and people were just tired. The movie was just that fucking exhausting.

I can't remember the last time an audience was that subdued during a blockbuster opening either. I don't think it's ever been close. There were a few laughs here and there, sometimes at the expense of the movie though sometimes more genuine, but that was it. Not a single scene got even a single cheer or clap, even the numerous scenes almost specifically designed for it.

Honestly, about halfway through I very seriously considered walking out, but didn't only because I dragged four people to it.

JW2 is doing very well internationally and the Thursday numbers are equal to Spider-Man and Thor. You may feel a new direction is needed but this is fine financially.

Weird, audience I had clapped and cheered throughout it.

It's because anytime the movie does something genuinely great, you're still recovering from the prior moments absurdity and utter joylessness.

People oftentimes say this, and while it isn't doing bad, keep in mind studio expectations were WAY higher. Like. 2billion (lol)

Wasn't remotely like that at my 7 PM showing, to add to the anecdotal JW stuff.

Demon is like the biggest Jurassic fanboy in gaf/era history, him hating the new movie so much it made JP3 look good is a twist

Please show me where the studio said they were expecting 2 billion. Thanks.

To go back to the talk of JW characters that people totally remember

Ken Wheatly from FK makes Vic Hoskins from JW look like Anton Chigurh from No Country For Old Men in terms of villain writing.

It's genuinely impressive how much this movie lowered every single bar.
