Oh I did see that because it was getting hyped up here. It was pretty good, but wasn't crazy about it
Oh I adored Lady Bird don't get me wrong. It's a very close number two.
a fine film
sic semper STX entertainmentIt's bullshit that the world forgot about The Edge of Seventeen.
Thatd make a good spin off thread with poll tbh.Hey everyone: Booksmart, Edge of Seventeen, Eighth Grade, or Lady Bird? I take Eighth Grade.
I would like to. Can't make polls yet.
Booksmart > Edge of Seventeen > Eighth Grade > Lady BirdHey everyone: Booksmart, Edge of Seventeen, Eighth Grade, or Lady Bird? I take Eighth Grade.
Right there with you palHey everyone: Booksmart, Edge of Seventeen, Eighth Grade, or Lady Bird? I take Eighth Grade.
It's really good. Woody is great in it as well.Ooh Edge of Seventeen is on Netflix here, I'm watching that tomorrow. I wanted to check that out after being impressed with Hailee Steinfeld in Bumblebee but never got around to it.
Isn't Spider-Verse one of Sony Animation's highest-grossing movies? And it's getting a sequel. Nothing to complain about with regards to Spider-Verse's box office results.
we are awash in good ones.Is it me or are teenage girl coming of age films usually really good?
Maybe its just the ones Ive watched and there is a whole bunch of really bad ones out there.
High LifeSpider-verse did well, it just deserved more. And the year before that BR 2049 did a lot worse, but deserved a lot more. I haven't seen much this year so what's the 2019 equivalent?

The interesting thing is all four are directorial debuts, three from actors/actresses, and two the writing/directing debuts.

Easy A was alright but probably one of my least favorites in that sub genre.I dont know something about it just wasnt up to par. It was the movie equivalent of trying to make fetch happen. You know, I also thought Easy A would become a cult classic but it's been mostly forgotten. It's main contribution to society were these gifs:
Easy A was pretty decent. It made me take notice of Emma Stone. You know, I also thought Easy A would become a cult classic but it's been mostly forgotten. It's main contribution to society were these gifs:

Makes me think of belle delphine. I need to spend less time on the internet.
Lady Bird is the only one I haven't seen. I think I rank them 1. Edge of Seventeen 2. Eight Grade 3. Booksmart 4. Easy A, but I honestly can't remember Easy A. Just that I really liked it back then.Hey everyone: Booksmart, Edge of Seventeen, Eighth Grade, or Lady Bird? I take Eighth Grade.
I just love the production design and overall look of Detective Pikachu. I also love neon colors/lights, so the movie was pure eye candy for me.My opinion on Detective Pikachu has become sooooo much more positive after watching The Lion King remake
It having an actual personality helped.I just love the production design and overall look of Detective Pikachu. I also love neon colors/lights, so the movie was pure eye candy for me.

Pitch black is a decent poor man's alien but it has a great diesel performance. It was basically his break through role. Are the Riddick movies good?
I have a friend who stans Pitch Black but not the others
Eighth Grade has villain of the year. How much real that shit wasEighth Grade is really, really fucking good. It is also incredibly uncomfortable to watch because of how on point it all is.
Pitch black is a decent poor man's alien but it has a great diesel performance. It was basically his break through role.
Chronicles of riddick is...weird. it takes a stand alone contained horror story from the first film and then tries to take the main character and place him in a big space opera. It has a few decent scenes and some really cool art design but it's not that great. I thought the ending was the best part but the next film does nothing with it. It's like the Prometheus of the franchise.
Riddick is basically pitch black 2 and it's an alright watch but nothing special. It's kind of like the alien covenant of the franchise. It comes off the back of a much more ambitious movie and tries too hard to turn away from the previous film.
The animated movie was a fun watch.
The first video game is fucking awesome and one of the best movie tie ins ever. The sequel game was meh.
At least it gave us Karl Urban with this haircut.I will never understand the decision to shift the Pitch Black sequel's genre from (relatively) hard Sci-Fi to Space Opera.
Imagine if for the sequel to Alien, Ripley found out she was the Chosen One and wielded a laser sword and the Xenomorph Queen could shoot lightning from her second mouth or whatever...
.The next biggest entertainment brand after pokemon is coming back
Yup..
there was a third Riddick film?
Original Pitch Black and The one where everyone said "Keep what you kill", what am I missing?
It clearly didn't work but I always prefer when non planned sequels shift genres vs doing more of the same. Like I'll take a Chronicles of Riddick over every MIB, Jurassic Park or Ghostbusters sequel.I will never understand the decision to shift the Pitch Black sequel's genre from (relatively) hard Sci-Fi to Space Opera.

Yup.
Riddick.
Bautista was in it. And he only makes good films.
