I am super salty about A Hidden Life not getting a wider release.

I need that Terence Malick goodness.

The Tree of Life is in my top ten of the decade

Just Mercy is getting review bombed on IMDB.

I wonder how much of that is because of its subject matter or because Brie Larson is in it.

I can't believe how Rian Johnson treated the characters in TLJ. It ruined the trilogy. Congrats to making me miserable on everything Star Wars.

Just saw it again yesterday in anticipation of the new film and nah its pretty good. It takes the stupid ass mess abrams/kasdan left johnson with by having luke in exile and making the most sense of that situation as he could.

Boyega gets more to do in this movie than he does in force awakens as well but his role in the trilogy has been set as sidekick from jump

You might just be trolling me and i fell for it tho 💀

Can‘t believe you read my post and thought I was serious.

Guess it says a lot about this whole discourse.

Wait, was that a possibility?
Unless the rumor mill on this changed again recently, supposedly the Yoda spin-off movie that was rumored for years was going to be that Seven Samurai w/ Jedis movie that Snyder was attached to a long time ago. I guess with Yoda playing the Kanbei role of assembling a group of Jedi to protect a village or something.

It's a better premise than I would have ever expected out of the idea of doing a Yoda spin-off at least

6 Underground is probably the worst movie I've seen this year. Some fun action setpieces, but the script and editing were horrible.

Jumanji's coming in over $50M for the weekend. Given Christmas legs it should end up well over $200M, maybe even over $300M as audiences seem very positive. Sony will likely want to do a third one of these.

More interestingly, neither Black Christmas nor Richard Jewell was able to gain any traction this weekend. Expect them to be gobbled up by the Star Wars tsunami next week.

Holy crap Sony are claiming $60M for Jumanji. That's massively ahead of tracking. $300M seems very possible with holidays coming up.

Taking this time to say you should definitely see Knives Out. I saw it twice this past week and found it an absolute delight. It's a strong contender for my favorite movie of the year.
