🎩 Tips and tricks:
Cap the frame rate/potentially improve frame times: Download RivaTuner Statistics Server (if you use MSI Afterburner, then you already have it installed), input your desired framerate limit in the "Framerate limit" box, and hit Enter . Alternatively, those with an Nvidia GPU can either cap the frame rate at the driver level via the Nvidia Control Panel (requires the 441.87+ drivers) or use Nvidia Inspector to force a vsync internal lower than one-half (click the small tool icon to open the game profile section).
Note: Useful if your system can't maintain, say, 60fps and you're sensitive to the wild fluctuations, or you're experiencing uneven frame times. The greater window the engine has to render a given frame, if you're imposing a lower frame rate than the game can otherwise provide, may also help in alleviating stuttering related to data streaming.
Skip intro videos: Set +com_skipBootSequence 1 as a launch argument. (Credit to Queen Of Hunting.)

After a long ol' break, I'm back with a game guide for Wolfenstein: Youngblood - https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/guides/wolfenstein-youngblood-graphics-and-performance-guide/

Folks always ask, "will there be more guides?" It depends on the available debug features. If we can accurately benchmark, and snap great comparisons, we'll do it, assuming I have the bandwidth, and I'm not on vacation ;)

4K max settings and framerate averages around 120fps? Holy shit.

NVIDIA RTX Ray-Traced Effects Coming Soon To Wolfenstein: Youngblood
Bethesda Softworks and MachineGames have chosen NVIDIA GeForce as the PC platform of choice for Wolfenstein: Youngblood, giving us the opportunity to enhance Wolfenstein: Youngblood with cutting-edge Ray-Traced Reflections, and Ray-Traced Ambient Occlusion shadowing.
In Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Ray-Traced Reflections will accurately simulate the way light reflects on glossy and metal surfaces by tracing a single bounce of reflection rays across the scene. Materials affected include smooth, natural mirrors, like windows and water, but also rougher surfaces like brushed metal. Unlike screen space techniques, which can only reflect what's on screen, ray-traced reflections incorporate the entire scene around the character, and can accurately represent objects outside the camera view, as well as those facing away from the camera. These reflections will enhance everything, from street scenes to secret labs, to casinos and control centers.
Ambient Occlusion (AO) adds contact shadows where two surfaces or objects meet, and where an object blocks light from reaching another nearby game element. The AO technique used and the quality of the implementation affects the shadows' accuracy, and whether new shadows are formed when the level of occlusion is low. Without Ambient Occlusion, scenes look flat and unrealistic, and objects appear as if they are floating. With Ray-Traced Ambient Occlusion, we can render this effect with unparalleled accuracy, enhancing every second of gameplay for the duration of your Wolfenstein: Youngblood gaming, further improving realism and image quality.
For a first-look at Wolfenstein: Youngblood's ray-traced effects, and their release date, watch this space and stay tuned to GeForce.com.

Here are the goods. Can't wait.

Hi from Ars Technica. Throughout my testing of the retail game on an i7-8770K (OC'ed to 4.9GHz) and an RTX 2080 Ti FE (OC'ed via EVGA X1), I rarely went below 180fps at 1440p resolution with every setting at max. I opted for the "quality" adaptive shading setting (the highest toggle) and didn't notice any funny business with that turned on, either. (For more on what I think of the game itself, clickity right here.)

AndyBNV That Nvidia guide is bordering on DF-level stuff, man. Well done. BUT WHEN'S THAT RTX PATCH COMIN', HUH?

Ahem. Sorry, something rude in my throat there.

That Adaptive Shading business is magic. I hope that type of thing can become commonplace for boosting performance with pretty much zero visual loss.

Holy shit! It's been a while since I've seen you and your guides, then back at the old place.

Don't have too much to say I guess, just wanted to let you know that I loved and still love your guides and I look forward diving into it in detail. Keeo up the great work.

Also, fingers crossed for more in the future. :)

Is it just me or did you forget to put the GPU model on those graphs? You have the CPU, memory, CPU clocks and such but the GPU isn't listed.

Game runs a solid 60 fps 1440p max settings on Titan xP 3900x 32 Gb ram
4K was struggling, but I didn't mess with any of the settings yet.

Running buttery smooth on my 2060 Super.

A bit sad there is no ray tracing at launch however I am happy that there seems to be a decent performance overhead that already exists before adding the ray tracing on top.

Anyone playing this on a 2080 ti at 21:9 (3440x1440 preferably)? I'm wondering what sort of FPS to expect and if any settings had to be tweaked.

Hmmm, tried 4k/60 on my 2070 and it dropped down to around 45 fps and I got a warning about lack of vram. Maybe game ready drivers are actually needed for once? I'm still on the previous driver.

This will be the first game I play on my 2070 super. Bummed no ray tracing at launch though.

1080ti/7700k/32gb RAM @ 1440p, and the game so far is either hitting close to or surpassing my monitor's 165hz limit, with all the settings on high or ultra. Very happy with out it runs so far.

Damn I was hoping for a 60 fps cap to keep my laptop from melting itself.
My CPU is a little under powered but my 1060 should be fine.

Is it just me or is this game giving me higher CPU temps than other games? Normally the 3900x hits around 50s/60s for games and this one hits around 70s

Its one of the few games that's actually threaded. Its also gpu light so cpu will see high utilization

this is the performance on my PC , 2080 ti KinPiN holding 2.2ghz

Should have left framerate uncapped

Weird thing going on with the games hdr. It doesn't work automatically like on resident evil 2 ...so I turned on hdr in the windows dashboard, got the displayport hdr signal indicator. But when I boot the game, I get display port without hdr signal. In the in game menu, there's an hdr bloom option, and this is available whether I have hdr enabled in windows dashboard or not. I'm not sure what is going on, is this game supporting real hdr?

We're working to fix this geo-redirect issue. Apologies.

Same issue as above, I expect. Working with our web team to fix it ASAP.

Amazingly, everyone who reviewed the content missed that! :) Have overwritten the files with updated charts, though you may have to Ctrl+F5 the page/files.
