Hello all!

I recently tried the 3-day trial. The warlock and priest play about the same at 110 as I remember save for my weapon being useless now. I don't know what I'm doing with the 104 feral druid. About PVP... I thought stats in random BG's were normalized. Some of the BG's I entered at the 110 game on the priest and warlock (both horde) I encountered "twinks." I thought this was done away with.

Otherwise, it's lonely on my Alliance Druid, Pally, and Mage. It might be because I'm guildless, but leveling feels so empty.

I'm on the West Coast. Aggramar (Alliance) and Illidan (Horde)

I absolutely believe some major drastic changes will happen for WoW in 9.0. Mainly the faction barrier being destroyed.

The reason why I believe in it? Classic. Classic is a perfect way for Blizzard to keep the old status quo of Horde vs Alliance for those who care about it, while being more experimental with retail WoW.

That leak tho... Tinkers sound viable, AR becoming customization options it's what should have been done in the first place. I'm really skeptical regarding Sylvanas motivation. It's extremely out of character... But then again, Blizzard already did completely 180º turns with characterization in the past so who knows?

Kinda tempted to jumping back in for a month or so, how's the current content? Been about 8 or so months since I last played.

Bought a BFA pre-purchase key and managed to get the 110 character boost, what class would you all recommend using it on? Have level 100 dwarf hunter (108), Tauren paladin, Draenei shaman, Dranei Death Knight, Worgen Mage, Tauren Druid and a 105 demon hunter.

Mainly play Alliance

A lot of videos I've watched suggest warlock is currently the most fun class to play. And powerful. I'm gonna roll one of those next.

Yeah warlock is pretty much always a good bet. It's rare for it to not have at least 2 strong/fun specs.

Warlock, it is then, any suggested race?

Going to start the grind for allied races as soon as I can.

Dwarf is the only alliance race I like (Maybe worgen with the model update coming), but if you want horde I like most of the options. Orc, Undead, Troll, Goblin are all cool.

I never really pay much attention to racial abilities when making a new character tbh. They have a very minor impact on your overall potential/effectiveness. Just go with whatever you like from an aesthetic/lore perspective.

Thinking Human Warlock 😏

Get him to 120, then try and grind the allied races, is that pretty straightforward to do? Any tabards or anything to help with rep?

Just returned a bit to test out the 8.2 stuff, and man, Eternal Palace loot is really disappointing, it's like Blizzard doesn't even care anymore. For example, there is only one 2H weapon model for melee specs, a 2H mace from boss 3 and 5. It's literally the same exact model. In Battle of Dazar'alor there was a 2H sword and a 2H axe with unique models.

And then there is the 2H staff from Azshara. What is that thing. Looks like something that drops in Scarlet Monastery, yikes. The rest of the loot is also not that hot, trinkets are imo the only items that seem interesting.

Edit: Just saw the new cinematic. Mehhh. That's it?

The new cinematic is disappointing. Though the raid and the last fight look amazing, the music is so good. Mythic could be really good.

Raid loot is pretty much 1 for 3 this xpac. Uldir is just a modern take on Ulduar loot, and the new raid is some of the least appealing raid loot I've ever seen. At least there's a lot of cool looking stuff in Battle for DA.

And yeah, the Azshara defeat cutscene is very underwhelming.

Meh, that's a bit weak to end on for now. The raid itself looks amazing though, but the cinematic is lacking.

The raid armor sets are definitely a little weak, but there's at more unique looking loot in the patch thanks to benthic gear, the Nazjatar drops and all the Mechagon stuff. I wish they'd put a little more into it, but if they can't even make dungeon season sets for M+, this is probably the best we're getting.

Some folks are speculating there will be more shown in Mythic to contextualize things, but knowing blizz's history, I doubt it.

The weird part is....now that we took the fun side-trek into the Nagas for a bit, we're going (presumably) right back to the Horde/Sylvanas situation....despite Sylvanas not having a single line, and Nathanos' 'I'mma take Xal'atath's shell and go do unknown things' not being followed up on (as of yet)?

So 8.2.5 war campaign is presumably gonna have to yank us away from Najz/Mechagon situation and pull us back in the entire opposite direction?

I don't even know what Blizz's thought process is with the story at this point - and while granted, it's probably undergoing revisions due to fans not having some bits, I don't know how they're gonna pull off the 'Blizz magic' to make it work at the end.

Also....I would have hoped Ashzara would be a little bit more involved, at the end there.

So much for the leaks saying that the Heart of Azeroth breaks N'Zoth's chains, huh.

But that is exactly what happened. The dialog during the fight confirms this even the fight mechanics are centered around this. It's a brillianty designed really.

New world boss on Nazjatar. Didn't know that was coming. Been dropping 415 gear for my alts like candy. Don't forget to bring a bonus roll token.

*Huge lore moment of Azshara using our own HoA to break a massive imprisoned old god free, who in turn saves Azshara before fleeing to the surface*

Damn.

Kul Tiran is dope though, reminds me of Fable with the British accents, nice to see as a Brit.

O-H-I-O
I thought it was just WotLK
You could for sure champion reps in Cata with Tabard's but I can't remember anything after that.

I don't remember them from WoTLK but that was like 10 years ago and I have been exalted with all of them since WoTLK so I haven't paid them any attention.

We knew that from datamining. Cinematic which are shown only after patch are released should have more in it than a 1 min cutscene. Where is my Velen saying farewell to KJ equivalent?

Spoiling yourself through datamined info is on you, not Blizzard.

That is an incredibly dumb argument.

People at ilvl 420 seem to be struggling with Mechagon Dungeon. I'm like 404 so no chance I'm gonna get into groups tomorrow :( I was so excited to try it but more grind needed I guess zzzzzzz.

The info of Azhsara using the HoA to release nzoth is even there on the Dungeon Journal. In-game. When 8.2 hit.

How can you defend the end game cinematic when you compare it to the Nighthold, ToS or Antorus ones?

Eternal Palace cinematic is trash compared to the Legion ones.

i'm kind of curious why we're comparing cinematics now?

azshara doesn't have relationships to the characters like the bosses from legion did. we're not going to get a heartfelt moment where azshara, in a dying gasp says to thalyssra "no you're actually a really good first arcanist, i promise"

So if the raid had released the same day 8.2 came out, then the cinematic would be better somehow?

Why am I comparing it to NH or Tos? The story beats are different. We have no characters with direct connections to N'Zoth involved in this moment. And I sure as shit have zero reason to compare this to a final raid of an expansion cinematic like Antorus.

Not every moment needs to have a bombastic 3 minute cinematic to get the point across.

What exactly were you expecting/wanting here?

I'm more baffled that twice now we see a character related to Malfurion/Tyrande and not a single interaction between them happens.

N'Zoth escaping is a pretty big deal.

Previous Old Gods were either stopped from escaping (C'thun, Yogg Saron) or already dead (Y'Shaarj) because the Old Gods can't be killed without major damage to the planet (Killing Y'Shaarj created the Sha).

8.3 is gonna be wack.

I expected something in line with the previous cinematics done by the same team and I got something much worse than previous blizzard works.

I wanted to see Sylvanas, the dagger or Magni involved. Or something that develops Azshara character and her relationship with N'zoth like ToS end cinematic did with Velen and KJ.

Best cinematic of the patch by far is the one you get in the initial introduction of Nazjatar and I expected something even better to close the patch.

So you want characters who have not been involved in Nazjatar at all to show up out of nowhere for the cinematic? That somehow makes it better? And exactly how and why would we have a Velen and KJ style moment between N'zoth and Azshara, especially when Azshara doesn't die and clearly has more of a role to play?

The stuff you're sayiing would be hamfisted and out of place, considering the current story points.

I'm also still not sure why you have this weird competition between cinematics going.

The cinematic is absolutely on-par with “previous Blizzard works” and I’m personally glad they’re sticking to their guns and telling the story the way they want to, even though I definitely have a lot of issues with it.

I’m personally excited to be completely left in the dark as to where we go from here and I hope they can tie up all of these loose ends in a way that leaves everyone satisfied.
