I really wish there was a way to just buy a sub to classic wow only for a one time purchase. I have 0 interest in retail and I'm playing other games at the same time along with real life commitments so paying $15/month when I only got to level 20 in one month (plus some alts) feels slimey.
Same. It doesn't feel so bad atm cos I had a 60 pass from when MoP came out and my wife got it me for Christmas but it runs out on November 5th so then I've gotta start paying. I will never play retail so it does feel like I'm being scammed a bit.
I can't work out how to use that sixtyupgrades.com site at all. :s
The guy who made it is really helpful on Discord if you want to join his channel.

It's worth noting that Blizzard broke automated /who queries so these are no longer being kept up to date.

Leveling skinning is insanely easy. You can basically always put yourself in areas where you will get guaranteed skill ups and you can max out skinning on low level 40 mobs. It probably wouldn't take more than going Mulgore, Barrens, STV, ferales

You're right, I just did it last night for less than an hour and I can almost level it on the mobs I'm killing in STV. It's nice to have two sources of income now. I was at 3g after buying the mount and some training but now I'm back up to 18. Feels good. I'm just vendoring leather right now since the early ones aren't worth too much but it looks like Heavy and Thick start to make some decent money.

What's the best resource for seeing all available enchants? I want to start enchanting now that I'm approaching 50 and starting to get some gear that will last me a while

On Fairbanks, most leather below T H I C C is going for vendor but Thick and Rugged is going for 1-1.5g a stack. As I said before, you can get to 300 skinning on early 40s mobs, so once you hit STV you can basically finish it, although you Ferales has some good kill quests that have skinnable mobs

In-game i use the addon AtlasLoot. It primarily used for browsing what loot drops from dungeons and raids but there are categories for professions, faction vendors, and pvp.

What version of Classic are we currently on?

I know that bonus gold for quests at level 60 was later added, but I can't tell if it's currently active in the game.

Can someone just explain how I, a Night Elf, was able to moonfire and FF a Human Rogue?

You know what else is a big giveaway?

The fact that you have the blue Alliance insignia on your character icon and they have the red horse insignia on theirs.

Time to throw in the towel. It was fun experiencing Vanilla WoW again and it was nice seeing some guildies resurface from 10+ years ago but I'm over it. A group of us have decided to try out FFXIV since current WoW is not for us.

World pvp is amazing. Getting jumped only to escape and return with a reckoning is an amazing feeling. When they release to the GY in utter defeat. The feeling.

I think ive done the most evil thing in my time playing wow. So i was trying to do the quest the forged seal of Acension(UBRS key), couldnt get a group for it, so i was like fuck it ill wait hope some people come along. Just my luck 3 alliance players come to kill the Dragon so they get him mind controlled breathe fire on the seal so its forged, then they all die i run up steal the seal and hearth to ogrimar. Got my UBRS key.

Anyone else think that Stranglethorn Vale has a lot of flaws as an area?

Such as?

Its main weakness is how overcrowded it can become, as far as its questing efficiency goes. Classic questing design usually boils down to "guided grinding sessions," and STV has good quest density, provided it's not overcrowded.

There's a bit of a level split between northern and southern STV, so the player will have to leave and come back, but that's pretty common for Classic zones.

Lol

I was doing an escort quest in ashenvale last night with a random group and right as we're about to finish we saw a group of alliance players 5-7 levels above us. Thought we were done for but they helped kill the mobs and then waved at us. Was super bizarre but cool.

Mostly i think the level gap is way too high - Nothern STV is likely 30-33 while Southern STV is 40-44. Also i am not a fan of item quests in general and STV has a lot. Plus some enemies are extremely rare (see Witch Doctors)

What zone should I be heading to next for questing? I'm level 29 and just finished up Duskwood. STV feels probably a little too high level for me right now; is there something in-between? I'm Alliance btw.

STV is probably better for Horde with Grom'Gol (sic).

But as Ally4lyfe I love it. Lore wise it's a great mix, has variety and some cool Qs and is PvP manic, which varies but I generally appreciate.

This is the main thing. I'd love the chaos in STV if it meant mostly similar leveled horde players for fun PVP. But since the level range is so wide, you're coming back again and again, and higher level players take out lower level players plenty and it feeds into the chaos. With BB being the hub, you're crossing the entire zone and running into all these different levels.

You're probably better off grabbing a level or two in dungeons then moving to STV. Another good place to go would be the shimmering flats and thousand needles.

At 29 it's gotta be SM GY. If you haven't run any other dungeons it may be good to run them once even if they are lower level just to get quest xp

Got some more time to play now and just hit 56. The end is in sight!

Really love playing priest. Completely broken 1v1 in world pvp as Shadow and then healed BRD last night. First time I've done a full BRD run since 2006, it took 4 hours and I loved every second of being thoroughly lost again with my group. What a masterpiece of dungeon design.

I love having the details! damage meter app. I ran SFK with another rogue in the group last night, same level, and I trounced him. Infact, a hunter was 2nd.

Good job the shadowfang/assassin's blade didn't drop (the only reason I keep running SFK) as we'd have had a fight, once we'd all stopped fapping.

I hope you pasted the results into chat and made him feel bad for the full experience.

It's got a lot of mobs and a ton of quests, but it's too damn big of an area. It's only fight point is Booty Bay and that's way too far south, so you're basically stuck there while you level.

Rebel Camp doesn't have a flight point does it? Horde have Grom'Gol and Booty Bay plus Zeppelin service from UC and Org directly to Grom'Gol. It's almost too accessible for Horde haha.

Badlands is an interesting area. It's hard to find quests there but it's really active. We had some nice 5v5 PvP going on to secure an area with quest mobs.

Rebel Camp's FP was unfortunately added in TBC.
