Lets be honest, Pokémon is becoming bloated and there's a limit to how many character models Nintendo can cram into these games. It's time to make a line in the sand and work with what they have and make the most of it.

Pokemon Army 1000!

Anyway, no. I wouldn't be. I mean. I'd live with it. There's nothing I'd be able to do about it. But I'd be disappointed -- and surprised.

Nah, it's only becoming bloated to genwunners. I liked the direction they were going with the Alolan forms, so hopefully we get more regional variant/species in future games.

There are around 8.7 million animal species worldwide, personally, I dont think TPC should aim for anything lower than that

They should keep creating new pokemon forever, with advances in tech I think it will only become easier to bring their models up to date as time passes.

There are so many organisms in the world, like they could just create bug pokemon for an eternity.

Wheres my bio mat mon?

Why the fuck would they stop?

Literally sounds like an old person mad "their" series has continued on without them.

I think the best thing to do would be to do more regional variants of old Pokemon. You get new designs, typings, etc, but without having to remember WHOLE new Pokemon.

Of course, given what's happened so far it would just all be Kanto Pokemon that get it. No matter how much sense it makes for other gens

I mean, it's bloated because of shit like Mantine surfing. The actual number of Pokemon is one of the main series draws.

god no.

what makes pokemon exciting is new pokemon each generation. I hope we never ever reach a point where we get regions with less than 50 new pokemon per generation. That's depressing to think about

Why are people afraid of large numbers or uneven numbers as well?
Let them keep making as many as the see fit.

Good lord no. A hard cap would be crippling to the growth of the series.
Oddly enough I think not having a cap would be more crippling

The amount of work and time needed to model and animate each of them is already somewhat prohibitive I'd have to imagine. Look at let's go... The animations are just abysmal. I would rather more effort and budget be put towards improving what we already have and making it better than tacking on more for the sake of it. A game like this can grow in far more ways than just amount of Pokemon. If anything I feel like adding as many as they have has been pretty detrimental to the series. They can still add some but maybe keep it to 10-30 at a time at most. Focus on improving the rest of the game and systems.

Really curious to see what 2019 winds up being like.

No. And they should always do like B/W, only new Pokemon available till the end game

New Pokemon are the main thing I look forward to each generation, so no. I'd be okay if Gamefreak (not Nintendo) quarantined all of the Kanto and Kanto-related Pokemon to Let's Go, though. So sick of them.

There are more than 1000 species of life in our world. Why should the pokemon world stop at some arbitrary number?

People want new Pokemon, even if the number keeps getting more ridiculous. It's not our problem to worry about futureproofing, but... yeah, Pokemon are definitely getting replaced in the future.

can we stop with the "there are too many pokemon" bs?
because there are not and a huge part of the appeal of a new gen is the new pokemon.

the fact that they slowed down and only introduce 70-80 is what turned me off the last two gens the most.

They could make 2,000 and I'll still remember each of their names and types instead of more useful information

There will never be a cap on the series. And that's just the way the fans want it. Some gens just won't have as many new Pokémon as others.

I mean, new Pokémon are what spurs most of the hype. So I say that Game Freak/The Pokémon Company/Nintendo should keep going after 1,000.

This.

You'll have the Let's Go games pandering to nostalgia, or limited roster size or whatever the fuck you want. Let the fans who support the series and want to see it grow and evolve get what they want too. The Pokemon world is a world. There's more than 1000 animals in real life so there's no issue with there being many, many more Pokemon. Just because you cant keep up doesn't mean they should cap it, lmao.

I think they should do what they did with B/W. New Pokemon until endgame and also adding a New game + version as well.

Although i don't expect them to come up with enough "good" new pokemon to make this model perfect.
