The solution is probably for Vince/WWE to stop buying up every wrestler under the sun trying to keep them from the boogeyman competitors. A legitimate competitor would be so good for both WWE and every single wrestler they employ for all the reasons you mentioned. Vince lets so many amazingly talented performers languish in the lower card to the point that many of them get beyond rehabbing to the main event. Competitors could make them huge stars and then those stars moving between companies would make bigger draws for all. Vince just isn't satisfied unless he owns everything. He wants to do dumb shit like the brand split so he owns both "competitors" and then him and his creative staff have no clue how to even pull that off semi convincingly.

I was there and in my section, it was mixed. Me and a few people booed, others cheered.
Everyone around me acted like it was the second coming of christ. It was gross.

I'm all for subjective opinions, but if that Takeover was a B-, I'd love to know what an A+ is.
