Bit lukewarm on the show. Overall I enjoyed it and it definitely had some highlights for me (sucks that a few things got already leaked though). Biggest megaton was definitely PSO2, because I never expected the game to come west after all. Sucks that it's early 2020 though. In general: most of the stuff shown was 2020 I feel. Oh and Keanu Reeves. Fucking awesome.

Lack of gameplay was pretty telling. Solid enough show that benefited greatly from the Sony no show.

Its sad to say that an actor was the highlight of their conference

Also have we seen gears 5 gameplay much, or even at all?

This isn't that different from Bungie. Here's the Halo 3 teaser:

And here's the Reach teaser:

The major difference that I made sure to distinguish is, that while those cgi trailers came out, they werent followed up with back to back cgi trailers with no gameplay or info. Two years in a row with no gameplay or info on the game is a fucking joke

I hate this idea of announcing a console 18 months away and trying to be secretive about it...we all pretty much know what's coming in these things. Show it, name it, date it, price it, etc...let people pre-order now or be able to start paying it off.

It gets it out of the way now and then 2020 can be all about the games...the hype will be just as much.

Same with Sony.

Conference was pretty much meh for me overall...some cool things but nothing real mindblowing. Was hoping to get more info on xCloud too.

Microsoft was ok. Not enough Gameplay, some big surprised was missing, funny Moments and no real Infos about XCloud and Scarlett.

So yeah, fine but nothing special

CG trailer fest. Zero interesting first party announcements. Microsoft was playing teeball and somehow struck out. Fucking brutal

Their 2018 briefing was better, but it's just not the biggest year in the industry. I guess that's why Sony skipped. I wish Microsoft would have shown more gameplay, but they might do this through streams and Inside Xbox. Still think they should have done a Fable and Banjo-Threeie teaser just to get people pumped up for next gen besides Halo. The one thing I was not surprised about is that the new studios wouldn't have tons of stuff to announce yet. Many of them are still finishing up their commitments and we'll only see new stuff in 2-3 years from now. I wish they had talked more about pricing of Project xCloud though.

Pretty boring for me. The unexpected announcement was PSO2 which is like 7 years old. Big props for showing games out of their comfort zones. PC gamepass is interesting for me but the rest was pretty tame. It really shows it's the end of a generation.

I have to ask. What was with Xbox censoring all the swear words in the Cyberpunk trailer while simultaneously showing ultra-violence?

Thought overall it was ok.
Loved:
Outer worlds
Cyberpunk
Keanu
Spirit Farer
Elden ring
Ori

Then the conference kinda ran out of steam. When they started talking about the actual Xbox games. Expected ga eplay from Halo and Gears. The gears trailer for a multiplayer mode was super weird.
Canny conference, but it started so strong that the poorer second half kinda took the wind out of my sails.

That was an OK conference, but there were no real megatons for me. I'm happy with their new focus on PC and I just subbed to game pass. Friendship with Sony ended! Just kidding, I'll be on PC with a PS5 on the side for exclusives. I must say again how I really like MS finally doing the right thing on PC and I'll be supporting that from today.

Ori, Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring were the main highlights for me. Many other nice looking games, but nothing majorly exciting.

That kinda sucked. I mean I thought some of the games looked good, but it was all CG trailers and snippets of gameplay if there was any at all.

Show us prerecorded gameplay if you don't wan to do the live thing, but god it was so boring seeing CG trailer after CG trailer.

4/10

MS had a chance to own the entire narrative of E3 but most people will be like "Gee i wonder what Sony are up too" that conference was boring. New console chat was conservative too.

Yeah, this is pretty much me. I feel there was nothing at this conference as exciting as the new Death Stranding trailer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Surprised to see so many high scores for this presser. It's a 4/10 at best.

Like... Your main competitor doesn't show up and what do you do? pre-rendered trailers. Amazing.

I wanted more gameplay. Enjoyed the variety of types of games that Microsoft is supporting though.

I can't understand why there was no gameplay from Gears 5 and not much info or gameplay from Halo Infinite. Lots of nice games but no gameplay for most was really dissapointing. It was like watching one long montage :/

The ending ruined it and banjo kazooie would have really spiced up the variety.

This conference was MID.... it set UP next year... and honestly i've been tired of waiting. All this was was a reminder of hey we got cool stuff coming eventually. definitely interested in a few of the games but I did not get enough Halo outta this.. or really anything from their older exclusives

I'm sort of stunned by how underwhelming that was towards the middle and end. Beginning was good and then it just petered into cg after cg nonsense. No new gameplay trailer for Gears is baffling. Expected more from CDPR even though that cg trailer looked absolutely bonkers good in the Mixer stream at 4k. Intrigued by the Blair Witch game (seems to be borrowing themes from stuff like The Endless film which is right up my alley), indies are ofc always on my radar. The Game Pass additions are great, PC Game Pass stuff was good, but overall gameplay presentation was so severely lacking I'm wondering what in the hell is going on wrt general planning behind the conference. Like is there market research showing these expensive cg trailers boost pre-orders or something?

Totally in for that Lego Forza pack though that looks like so much fun.

The reason perhaps they didn't show the new Fable as it's probably going to be a Scarlett launch title?

peaked with cyberpunk, expected a bit more from next gen but it's still so early that those expectations probably weren't realistic

was hoping they'd get an avengers project trailer, guess square wants the world exclusive for their live stream that will probably get half the viewership. whatever.

no aoe4 and no banjo makes me sad :(

Wait, that Halo clip was next gen? Looked worse than some stuff this gen in terms of animation and facial detail.

They shouldn't have shown scarlet at all if that's all they had

They pretty much did as last year, which is relying on services and partnerships. It's quite telling of how people's perception works, when the same, or a very similar approach, yields such a different feedback.

the whole gears shit was so FUCKING frustrating, like they spent more effort on that fucking stage than trying to sell the game with a gameplay demo like they did with 4.

My highlight was Master Chief's armour looks super good (the last 30 mins were bad), but from what I saw, I'm glad I didn't go out my way to watch the show, just caught the Cyberpunk trailer and that's have probably been my overall highlight based on what I'm seeing that was shown.
