They showed off three tiers of controller: base, premium, elite (kind of like Core, Elite Core, and Elite right now). I suspect Sebile will cost $80.I wonder how much this is going to cost. Will they three tier the controllers.
no shot they put out a controller that at most matches the DualSense (except likely less - no adaptive triggers or touchpad or built in mic) and charge more. They showed off three tiers of controller: base, premium, elite (kind of like Core, Elite Core, and Elite right now). I think the WiFi Direct connection, actually has battery life longer than one play session, and Lift to Wake will set it apart from DualSense.no shot they put out a controller that at most matches the DualSense (except likely less - no adaptive triggers or touchpad or built in mic) and charge more.

I mean, standard Xbox controllers cost 60. Unless they're planning to just replace those in the lineup (which imo they should, let gyro be standardized god dammit), they're probably gonna be pricier than a Dualsense's $75 to justify having them be separate tiers.no shot they put out a controller that at most matches the DualSense (except likely less - no adaptive triggers or touchpad or built in mic) and charge more.
i honestly dont think those features really matter as cloud gaming is still giga niche, battery life depends on the batteries inside which likely won't be internal anyway (xbox controllers already have good battery life so that isn't "more" differentiating), and life to wake is kinda whatever beyond the first 2 seconds you pick it up. It just sounds like using an accelerometer.I think the WiFi Direct connection, actually has battery life longer than one play session, and Lift to Wake will set it apart from DualSense.
solution: discount the base controllers to $50 and phase them outThere's gonna be an AMA on the Xbox Insider subreddit tomorrow.

I mean you're talking about the features not mattering to consumers, not the cost of the features. A feature not mattering because cloud gaming is niche doesn't change the cost of adding a WiFi chip onboard and engineering a seamless way to switch between BT, WiFi, PC, Xbox, and cloud. The Lift to Wake with the accelerometer would require a very low power state that can read the accelerometer and turn on the console would likely increase cost more than just included a basic accelerometer onto the controller. The battery might not be internal but the slides did mention it'll come with batteries. Right now the Xbox Core controller is $60, with some different styles coming in at $70+ and that doesn't have a battery, haptics, accelerometer, WiFi chip, and very likely lower quality materials.i honestly dont think those features really matter as cloud gaming is still giga niche, battery life depends on the batteries inside which likely won't be internal anyway (xbox controllers already have good battery life so that isn't "more" differentiating), and life to wake is kinda whatever beyond the first 2 seconds you pick it up. And a New True Crime would be awesome as well.Great job with the new thread.
