200 is reasonable. It is a question, though, of what MS is trying to do with this console. We really have next to no idea. Given how little they're advertising this, even though it's clearly been ready to talk about generally for a while, they don't necessarily want this to grab all of the attention and turn the industry over. I assume. But I don't know, I guess.
Regarding streaming, that is a good question. I remember the first Scarlett rumors being that MS had a streaming console on the way that would use hardware to mitigate the effects of input lag and the such, perhaps creating the world itself on hardware, but streaming in the graphics and such on top of that. I don't know if that means they could use a cheaper console or a more CPU heavy one or if they can just use whatever hardware is in the One S/X or whatever. Who knows. It's likely just a new SKU, to see if the market is ready for a disc-less SKU, but likely XB1 (OG, S, SADE) Consoles will be streaming devices for XCloud, so we will likely see Xbox One S consoles be on sale for a long time.
I don't know why people rule out $199 at all.
This is 70€ below EU MSRP and the EU price includes VAT
So $199 for the US market is still possible. Also you get 3 great games.

But if these consoles are just going to be dumb terminals for straight up streaming, I don't see why they would push SADE instead of an Xbox gaming stick.
If I was going to pick 3 likely candidates it would probably be those 3.
Could one of you summarise what it says? My internet provider blocks 4chan so I can't read it.
Talks about report fails to link report lol. also these studios have been mentioned on this thread and xbox circles for a while, probably knows nothing.New report says Microsoft is apparently trying to finalize deals with 3 Studios before E3.
The Studios are Asobo, Relic and IO Interactive.
A letter of intent has already been sent to MS by IOI.

Sneaky squirrel.
It's pretty obvious whoever posted that likes to visit this OT. Era->internet->Era
Sneaky squirrel.
Asobo seems unlikely considering that partnership with Focus Home Interactive. I hope IOI is true though.
Not off the table. You can have multiple systems that do different things but are branded the same way. Good example from Microsoft is something like Skype and Skype for Business. These are really two different products running on two different platforms, but they're branded the same and use the same design UI.They're initially targeting Android phones for xCloud, so I think specific hardware to mitigate lag is off the table.
In all honesty, I think just about any possible dev that would make sense (and not) has been mentioned in here. lolLet's hope at least half of the E3 acquisition segment surprises.
Better, maybe. Here's a question for this forum. On the chance that Microsoft does not announce any new acquisitions but just showed off new games from their current studios, how would you feel?
Totally agree. Can't wait for it.One of my favorite parts of E3 is Phil's sit down with Giant Bomb. It's probably the most down to earth and real interview we get with Phil. It also gives us insight into Xbox that we would not get otherwise.
I'd be absolutely surprised, but not disappointed. Here's a question for this forum. On the chance that Microsoft does not announce any new acquisitions but just showed off new games from their current studios, how would you feel?

Casual Games is around...they just aren't a "studio". They are more like an internal dev team (think like the Back Compat team or ID@Xbox)I'd be absolutely surprised, but not disappointed.
They've expanded Xbox Game Studios by 7 over the past year or so, and that's more than double of what they had before (even if we including Global Publishing). If we included Casual Games (which isn't a studio supposedly anymore) they'd be actually double.
I bet we'll see some acquisitions, but they've been doing a lot as it is.
They were originally listed as a studio on the old Microsoft Studios website. That's the only reason I said you could maybe count them.Casual Games is around...they just aren't a "studio". They are more like an internal dev team (think like the Back Compat team or ID@Xbox)
Did Lift London ever end up making a video game? All I see on their Wikipedia page is Paint 3D.Casual Games is around...they just aren't a "studio". They are more like an internal dev team (think like the Back Compat team or ID@Xbox)
Well an Android/iPhone or tablet made in the last few years would have enough computational power on their own for XCloud to do what that specific hardware dongle would provide. The purpose of the MS dedicated device would be to add access to dumb (or many semi-dumb devices like smart-TVs) that have fairly weak compute capability outside of just the video related functions. There are millions upon millions of TVs that would need such a device if users just wanted to game stream to them. Such a dongle would be a portable connector. In other words, you just aren't going to be able to launch an app from current Roku or Chromecast or AndroidTVs or a lot of smart TVs in general to run XCloud or Stadia. Maybe TVs will have more tech built-in the future but there is a heck of a lot of TVs now 1080p and 4k that were not designed for anything beyond even just basic computing needs outside of certain functions that most TVS have special chips to do such work. And these TVs would definitely not be able to game stream effectively without such an MS like device (or without a more powerful dedicated PC/console using the app/browser).
It takes a little more than just a browser on a device (even though Google pretends it doesn't with Stadia). Stadia (when I beta tested Project Stream) required a relatively recent device. It didn't take a powerful desktop that is for sure but you definitely had issues with some even recently made Chromebooks that had fairly weak CPU's and storage capability (there still is a lot of local processing going on with this game streaming). MS would just sell such a device that would really be like Roku on game streaming steroids for people wanted to stream but had a TV or limited computing device. The devices special capability allows for it to have a rather weak CPU but passes all that game streaming needs off to special chips that can handle the streaming more efficiently. It uses special chips all to keep cost down on the device (this is at least what I have heard and read about its purpose)
Jaguar CPU is the bottleneck, game devs can't change that.I don't know how many times I tried State of Decay 2 on Xbox One X, and it was so clunky and the performance was jittery, but I thought what the hell I have Game Pass, I should give it a try on PC.
I was shocked how nice this game plays 60+ fps on G-Sync, and it looks so pretty maxed out. It's actually fun to play now, and being able to get to the core of the gameplay and see the good game hiding underneath, it makes sense Xbox acquiring Undead Labs, they're pretty good.
They should've just prioritized differently on console, the game plays like utter shit there.
If anything, they would have to cut the complexity of SoD2's simulations, which would render it a completely generic open world zombie game.
