Xbox Italy is using Dark Souls III for FPS Boost advertising on Instagram

fps boost isn't a settings tweak, it's at a lower level than that from what microsoft have said. but i imagine this will be 60fps
FPS boost doesn't (seem) to affect physics and game logic so it might be able to get to 120 but it's obviously on a case by case basis.
only on PS4 Pro specifically (and by extension PS5), not base PS4.
My hopes of this is the only thing that put a blocker on my big backlog purge of FROM's games last year. Was great to finally commit the time to play through my copies of DS1, 2 and Bloodborne and now that I've had a good chuck of time apart from those titles this update would be perfect timing to pick things back up!
Actually From games running at 60 seems to completely clear up the frame pacing issues.

DS3 doesn't maintain 60fps on the Pro at all, very variable. It does on PS5 though.
Yes. Unlocked, but unstable on Pro and locked 60 on PS5.
Will be interesting to see if MS can get it to 120, assuming the physics don't break down at that framerate.

FYI, Dark Souls III is a locked 1080p/60fps on the PS5, just through vanilla backwards compatibility.
Yeah, they gave Pro a patch and never got around to doing one for Xbox One X when that console released later that year.
It's one of those handful of "got a ps4 pro patch but not a One X patch" games.
Isn't it 60fps already ok current-gen? Are they going to raise the fps to 120? Crazy if they do.

I think they did a PS update, but nothing One X. An FPS boost would-be amazing but I would much prefer a res boost.
It only got a Pro patch because it launched with DLC2. One X launched later than that and From absolutely forgets about their games once their final DLC is done.
I had forgotten that Darks Souls 3 only runs unlocked on PS4 Pro so it already 60fps by default on PS5.
