I wouldn't be surprised. Both the Xboxes I bought last year came with a month trial.

Can't make it much smaller. The disc drive doesn't take up that much space. They're laptop slim drives.

The design is so whack. If you got yourself some white tape to put over a One S Disc Drive you can have the all digital system basically.

The base xbox one s is officially still at 299 but its always lower or comes with games etc. Probably will happen with this one also and is gonna be more time closer to 199.

not really, digital is WAY MORE prevalent than it was in 2009, specially with MS's subscription services

It would be cheaper because all purchases go directly through Microsoft, giving them a bigger cut. The disc drive barely costs anything.

This model just doesnt make sense to me. Who is this for? New consoles are on their way, the X is out and is far more powerful... and this isnt even that cheap for what youre getting. Might as well get the OG Xbox One for like 100 bucks.

Seems like a complete rip off. Lose the ability to play ultra HD 4k Blurays or any physical game for more than the One S costs typically (often on sale for $250 or lower).

That's what I thought too but that might not be true.

Grouped in with HDD here but combined the HDD/optical drive are the second most expensive thing in the Xbox One S. I don't know how much an HDD goes for but I'd guess like $45 when bought in bulk.
