Xbox One X Pre-Launch Discussion Thread

There's lots of us in the same boat.
Some people have had luck contacting Amazon and getting told their orders will ship for Nov. 7th.
Others are being given dates late into November and December.
Others (like myself) are being told that they have no estimate on a delivery date because there is a stock shortage (despite having pre-ordered about 10 seconds after it became available in August).
Target listed some Scorpio edition X1Xs yesterday, I pre-ordered on there as an "in case". It says it's shipping to me by November 13, which is better than anything Amazon has told me.
Feel free to do so. I'll try to take more Gears 4 Visual and some Halo 5 caps (in 1080p).
I just got my Amazon update about 10 minutes ago. So they are definitely still updating them;

Has anyone that's preordered theirs from Target prior to this week seen any kind of movement on their order? I'm guessing it probably won't be until Monday but I'm just curious.
Stop with the damn noise complaints ... guess what, it gets hot and the fan needs to run ... bottom line is it's going to make some noise. Even high end PC's make some noise under heavy loads!! Can't get around physics folks!! I suppose you are the same people that will bitch when the console overheats!!

If you hear the console, your tv volume is too low or your soundsystem is subpar. Get some Dolby Atmos and stfu

Sorry, but Xbox owners are spoiled this gen. We are used to having a console that doesnt make a peep. It would be really disappointing if the 1X is noisy.

I believe the stand also helps with air. Doesn't it suck in from the sides and expel out the rear?
Yup, sides are intakes and back is exhaust. Put some lego's under the console to not block airflow. (Or concrete slabs, it's heavy AF)

I'm trying to figure out how get audio through ONLY a pair of standard headphones so I can play at night when the fam is asleep, but I need full game audio through it. I don't use a mic, so I don't care about talking through it. As long as I can hear the game itself and other people talking, with the TV speakers muted, it's cool.
I don't mind plugging into the controller. But I don't want to have to run a long cable across the room from the console or TV to get full game audio.
Is this all I need? - For JUST stereo headphones. No mics.

Voice and game. I use it all the time still. I like the to have a mute button close.

I have it and I get full game audio. I haven't tested headphones explicitly but I assume they will work. Just make sure they have the right plug in (or buy an adapter for that, they're like $2).
Hehe yeah I was just explaining how my thinking goes when it comes to noise. Some people seem to be okay with all kinds of noise and say "just increase the volume" etc but I can't deal with that, I'm really picky and want to be able to enjoy the music and sound without background noise, if possible. XB1 has been silent enough for me, so I guess that's what I want with X too basically.

My OG xbox one seems to be quiet, but the power supply makes this buzzing noise even when the console is asleep

I very quickly took a video of Mass Effect: Andromeda doing its initial load (exciting). Don't have numbers of what the loadtime was like before on Xbox One, but we're looking at about 57 seconds to load from the main menu onto the Normandy now.

Hot damn. Those Halo 5 shots look like bullshots. Perfect IQ. And these are 1080p. Can't even imagine native 4K.
I believe the 1GB edition gets $150 ... think the 2TB gets the same. PS4 Pro and the switch get $200

Technically it can but will cut off half of the inbound air and could lead to overheating. In other words don't do it without the stand unless you are one of those that put your console on carpet and then wonder why it overheats. lol.
Beautiful shots but sanghelious already looked great on base xb1, could you plz check out warzone as that was really low res at times, especially apex? :)

I had this issue with my power brick too.
It used to be so loud but I think it was because it was dying. Eventually I found if I put it in certain positions the brick stop making noise and eventually the fan just died in it and the only noisy part of my Xbox is my Mybook External dive lmfao. Made me turn off instant on mode to not here the drive power up and down all night
